Resort in Pagbilao, Quezon, Philippines

by sanggano

the duplex villas are spacious, and are connected by a door in the ante room. can sleep up to 5 people comfortably. ideal for families. but it is a membership club so you will have to find a member who will sponsor you as guest.

beachfront more than 200 meters long. kayak for rent

not crowded. has a homey roughness to it - does not have the polished feel of 5 star resorts. service is not intrusive.

ROSARIAN HOTEL: Gumaca's Major One-Stop Shop for Travellers

by yellowcab

ROSARIAN Hotel is one of the oldest hotel complexes in Gumaca, Quezon. And yet still it remains as the prime destination for most travellers after that long hilly treacherous drive from Bitukang Manok Road, Quezon. Its location is strategic for long travel breaks since it is almost midway of your travel from Manila to Bicol.

We rented the Ordinary airconditioned rooms worth 755 pesos per day for two beds. They will charge you an additional 100 pesos per day if there will be more than two occupants since they will be putting an additional bed. But still you can insist on combining the two beds side by side so as to save money.

I had an initial bad impression of their accomodations because of the stinking smell inside the comfort room. Only after requesting for a thourough room service that it was deodorized. There are no hot showers here. A cable tv with a handful of channels(local stations, CNN, Hallmark, National Geographic, HBO etc..) is available on all rooms.

Although i had bad impression at the start I will still recommend it to others since thay were considerate enough to give us saving discounts for their failue to provide the additional beds on us!

The owner of the hotel is also the owner of the gasoline staion, canteen and grocery, souvenir shop. So you can really consider it as a complete one-stop shop for long distance travellers in Gumaca.

Also the 2nd and 3rd Floor rooms offers the best view of Lamon Bay!

Villa Escudero: Quezon's Finest

by mforonda

I usually go to VE to bring my balikbayan relatives and friends. They enjoy experiencing the country life after being away from the Philippines

Villa Escudero - Riverside Type: Villa Escudero - Riverside Type

by joysweet

The Riverside Units can accomodate up to a maximum of 12 people. Not sure how it is configured inside, but I remember that they have rooms (unlike in the apartment type). One of the things I like about the riverside units is that they overlook Labasin River with a balcony perched on the edge - so this brings breeze when it gets too hot. Also, they have a hammock in this unit - so you can laze the day away on the hammock and watch the river (and people who are trying the rafts).

I will give the hammock 2 thumbs up! Best way to laze the day away :)

Villa Escudero - Long House/Apartment Type: Villa Escudero - Long House/Apartment Type

We stayed in LH 4 - named after the flower a local flower - Campupot. This type of room is good for a maximum of 6 people.Their setup is a double bed at the ground floor, 4 futons at their loft area. Non aircon, with a reception/veranda area. They have a native couch made of kawayan in this area which is perfect for just hanging out, watching the children play on their wide lawn.

The room is non-airconditioned so it is a bit hot in the afternoon, but gets cooler in the evening. There are 3 fans inside the room - 1 ceiling fan, 1 small industrial fan for the ground floor area, and 1 wall fan for the loft area. The veranda has a ceiling fan as well, so when it gets hot, just hang out here.

One of the nice things I noticed at the resort is that they provide you with a clothes/towel rack - a perfect place to dry your clothes. Or if this gets full, you can always hang it in the railings.

Apartments at Villa Escudero

by victorwkf

Besides the traditional river house units (see my other tip on this location), Villa Escudero offers different types of apartments for overnight stay based on your preference and budget. You also have a choice of non-aircon and aircon (more expensive) apartments. Generally, the apartments are very good and in a tranquil environment but at the same time close to the various attractions of Villa Escudero. More information (including price) is at the webpage below.

Staying at Traditional River Houses

by victorwkf

In order to really experience Villa Escudero, it will be good to stay at one of the river houses located along the Labasin River. The houses are made traditionally (see photographs) and yet are very luxurious, except there is no aircon (but with ceiling fans) and television. I stayed here for one night and enjoyed the tranquil experience. If you are interested for more information including the price, please see the webpage below. Besides the river houses, there are other apartments (some with aircon) to choose from.
