Stone Creek house: Home Away From Home

This is easily the nicest accommodation in Romblon. Our room was cosy, clean and tastefully decorated with airconditioning and a really comfortable bed, and there was even a hot shower (!) a rarity in Romblon. We did find one during a previous stay at Muravian Hotel (never again) but it blew up while we were showering! Thankfully everything at Stone Creek is new and in perfect working order.
Stone Creek is a smart, newly renovated townhouse-style building conveniently located near the centre of town, close to the port, shops and restaurants. There's a nice communal lounge area with a good choice of movies and cooking facilities, as well as a roof deck to enjoy drinks at night. The owner, Carlos, is super friendly and helpful, and can help you organise boating, island hopping, kayaking and even massage.
Close by, you can enjoy a decent meal and great company at the friendly Romblon Deli restaurant.
Highly recommended.

The Three P Holiday & Dive Resort: Garden Resort on the Beach

This place is a very relaxing, clean place to stay. There are four bamboo cottages surrounded by a tropical garden next to the beach. The owners and the staff are very friendly. They speak English, German, Tagalog and Visaya.
The food is really good, too - especially the big fish plate.
The resort offers scuba diving lessons and related services (Duck's Diving Romblon).

There is a refrigerator and a TV in every cottage.
There is a pick up service for guests coming from neighbor islands like Tablas and Boracay.
Rental motorbikes are available.

Maruvian Hotel: Never Again!

This small hotel can be found slightly inland, not far from the market. I would NOT recommend staying in this place, as the English owner isn't around any more, and the current management have let the place run to ruin. Don't expect towels or other ameneties! During my stay, the hot shower unit (which was plugged precariously into the ceiling light fixture!) exploded while I was showering, causing all the lights to go out and scaring the cr@p out of me. The hotel manager then had the audacity to accuse us of having broken it deliberately! We then discovered that we were being charged double the official published rate for our room, and we checked out and found a better place to stay. .

Parc Bay Mansion: Lovely View

We were the only guests at this small hotel, located right on the bay, not far from Romblon Deli. There was a fantastic view of the beautiful blue ocean to wake up to in the morning, but only one towel (the manager seemed to think that was enough for 2 long haired folks to manage on, but was happy to give us another when he could finally be found).
I'm unsure what the "Parc" in the hotel's name could be referring to, as there is no "parc" in sight, but at P850 per night for a reasonable sized, clean aircon room with cable TV (no hot water) we were not complaining. Nice comfortable bed too.
Rooms without TV are a whopping P200 cheaper.

I'd be quite happy to stay here again as it was quite reasonably priced. The view is the hotel's best asset, as is it's proximity to two nice restaurants, Romblon Deli and Republica (formerly Jack's Bar). Food is not available within the hotel itself.

Plaza Hotel: Central and Convenient

The Plaza Hotel is located in the middle of Rombon town and is pretty convenient for everything. Our aircon room was quite spacious and very clean, with a small veranda, and cost P1500 per night. Cable TV was provided but none of the hotel's rooms have hot water, despite it supposedly being the town's best hotel, and an otherwise nicely decorated place.
There's a bar/restaurant on the roof with nice views of the town and port, and a well stocked supermarket on the ground floor.

San Pedro: Beautiful Beach

San Pedro Beach Resort is a basic, no frills resort located about 35-40 minutes trike ride from Romblon town. The native style cottages are on a little pathway overlooking the beach - which is as unspoilt and pristine as they come, and beautiful for swimming and snorkeling.
There's a basic breakfast and lunch menu, and main meals are usually arranged in advance. These are simple but quite tasty, especially the fresh seafood dishes.
This place is quite secluded, and after lights out there's not much to do except sit in the restaurant and enjoy a drink or two, but it's perfect for a romantic getaway.
We found the lady in charge to be quite helpful and friendly but there was one down-side to our stay; the dogs. On our arrival at the resort we were "greeted" by two vicious dogs which charged at us, barking and snapping aggressively, and the same happened on several other occasions when walking in the resort grounds or attempting to enter the restaurant. This is no way for a resort to allow their guests to be treated, and it's a shame because in almost every other way, we loved this place.
Another tip: There doesn't appear to be a generator, so bring candles or be left in the dark as happened to us one night during a brownout. It would be nice if lanterns were provided in case of this.

Rowenas Beach Resort: Peace and Seclusion

Rowena's is located about half an hour (by banca boat) from the main town of Romblon. There are two little fan cooled bungalows, each with 2 bedrooms (& ensuite bathrooms) and small lounge room with TV. At P1500 per night inclusive of breakfast this is a pretty good deal. The cottages are beachfront, and are situated in an attractive garden. This resort is really off the beaten path, so it's ideal for people seeking to get away from it all.

Cabanbanan: Peace and Seclusion

Cabanbanan Resort is pretty islolated, and is virtually inaccessible except by boat. Fortunately the resort has two boats which you can arrange to transport you around. Island hopping is a not-to-be-missed activity, and Romblon town, roughly 20 minutes away by banca boat is a nice little town to explore.

Cabanbanan Beach Resort: Back to Nature

Nestled on the hillside at Cabanbanan Beach (20 minutes boat ride from Romblon town) you'll find this lovely beach resort and dive shop. There are 6 cottages set in lush gardens right next to the tropical forested hillside. If nature is not for you (including a few bugs and bats) this might not be your thing, but I absolutely loved waking up in the morning to the sound of all kinds of birds singing, and falling asleep at night to the sound of crickets and owls calling in the trees. I could have stayed there for weeks.
There is a breakfast menu, but meals are usually to be arranged with the owners or staff as you go along. We dined well on simple fare such as fried chicken, pork chops, crabs, yellowfin tuna, roast potatoes, vegetables and rice, and everything was tasty - especially the fresh fish. If it's available at the market in town, they will try to provide it for you.

This is a friendly family run place, it's very small and it's in a remote area. We were the only guests staying there at the time as it was low season. If you are looking to get away from it all in a lovely quiet place, this is for you. But don't expect nightlife, videoke or a TV!
The owners, Josef and Wilma are very helpful and accommodating, and as well as filling you in with some local knowledge can arrange boat trips and snorkeling gear. Full dive courses are also available.
