Woodlands Resort: Value for Money-but poor water pressure

Good food, accommodating staff.

Great tip: Order your food in advance, and they'll be sure to serve it on the dot.

Unique Quality: Donsol is a small town, so you can't expect luxurious accommodations. It has your basic necessities: a good bed, water heater and air-conditioning. My only complaint is the water pressure.

Spent P1,600 for a room that fits 2 per night.

Close to the Hotsprings: Resorts in Irosin, Sorsogon

There are resorts in Irosin, Sorsogon. There's one close to the hotsprings. I am sorry but I forgot the name. It is such a small town that people will know especially the jeepney drivers and the drivers of tricycle (a local cab). The resort is beautiful and very private. There are two hotspring pools and picnic areas of the resort. The hotsprings are so wonderful that this resort is a must see in Sorsogon! Also, plan to go to the Bulusan Lake.

I am not sure how Irosin changed but I was there 12 years ago. I lived and own a little nipa house in Cawayan, Irosin, Sorsogon but I haven't been there since 1996.

The Bulusan Lake is beautiful and I composed a poem from my visit of crater-lake. We hiked from Patad, Irosin to the lake. These beautiful sites are not well-publicized attractions in the Philippines and because of this, it is mostly visited by the locals only- which makes the place more pristine and secluded!

Unique Quality: The hotsprings are strong that the owner of the resort made two swimming pools-just carved from the land.

vitton resort: best place to stay in for whaleshark encounter

this is the best place to stay in if you plan to do a whaleshark encounter because the resort is right beside the visitor center where you have to register first before you can swim with the whalesharks. the resort is also right on the beach and has nice views. rooms are big (bungalow type housing with 1-2 rooms each) which would be convenient for those carrying a lot of diving gear. also since there's only 1 or 2 rooms per bungalow and the bungalows apart from each other, there's enough room for privacy and some peace and quiet. only thing we noticed was that there wasn't any really security around and the resort was quite open to whoever wants to go in and out. plus not a lot of amenities. we stayed in february of 2007 and i don't know if the place was still new and being built/renovated hence the lack of security and amenities.

Unique Quality: spacious tiled bathroom with hot and cold shower...love it!!!!

palm creek resort: a mosquito net is a must!

we stayed here in february 2007 and at that time the resort was still fairly new so some of the amenities were still under construction or being improved on. rooms are a bit on the small side with a wall fan for each. before arriving we had already asked for mosquito nets to be put up since there wasn't any airconditioning. if you're not comfortable sleeping inside a mosquito net, make sure to bring a mosquito repellent. also there's a schedule for turning the water tank on and off so its a good idea to check if the water's on before taking a bath. no hot and cold water though and the bathrooms are a bit on the small, cramped side. owners were very nice though and tried to make us feel at home and grant our requests. no pool but the beach is right at your doorstep.

Unique Quality: the place is a little on the remote side so its very quiet especially at night. in the daytime, the view is great and we found out that they cater to weddings if you like. we saw pictures of how they set up the place for weddings and its quite good if you want to have a nice beach wedding.

Veramaris Resort: Gubat's Attractive Resort

SR/DR/fan/bath P770, SR/DR/ac/bath P1090 and P1700 (good for five people). Modest, but good rooms, all furnished differently, the more expensive ones with a sea view and TV. A good alternative to the Rizal Beach Resort Hotel. Restaurant.

Unique Quality: Nice long, broad Rizal Beach on the Pacific.

Guest World Resort & Inn: Irosin's Best Accomodation

I find this place really good value. We had a nice bungalow with 2 airconditioned rooms, a bathroom, dining, kitchen with refrigerator & electric stove, & a living area for P2000. The resort grounds is lovely with beautiful gardens & play area. Very huge parking area. 3 big swimming pools. Restaurant. Gas station. Nice view of Bulusan Volcano. Staff is friendly & accomodating especially Eva.

Fernando's Hotel: Best Option in Sorsogon City

clean rooms, good beds, nice management, cozy place. don't expect deluxe or 5-star quality or service or facilities.

Unique Quality: the owner is active with sorsogon tourism. the son is the first one who videotaped the whale shark while feeding. in short, it was partly through the family's efforts that donsol became popular and the whale sharks came under the protection of the local residents.
