Rosal's Beach Resort: Gumasa's most developed resort?
This resort is arguably the most developed in Gumasa. While the rooms are quite spartan (toilets have to be manually flushed!), it does have airconditioning. The resort is still a work in progress. They only had a couple of rooms and cottages for rent but expect an additional 10 rooms to be made available by December. They are also planning to put up a pool in a year or so. Currently, not much to do here other than laze on the beach and watch the surf. But seeing the immaculately 1 km stretch of powdery white sand, this is a welcome treat! For would-be travellers, be sure to let the resort know of your intention to buy food from the restaurant, their kitchen staff have to prepare in advance. Their canteen sells basic items such as chips and basic beverages (beer, sodas). If you intend to cook your own meals, bring your own chillers. The resort does not have space in their own freezers to keep food for you. They do offer to sell rice for you for a song!
If you're lucky, you can buy fresh catches of the day from peddlers. We were able to buy about 1.3 kilos worth of parrot fish (common in these areas) for PHP 50 ( USD 1)! The security guards of the resort even offered to grill this for us for free!
