near the centre

The Legend is around 2 kms from the Capitol building, and has the usual swimming pool, restaurants and shops. The rooms have tv, internet connection, a/c, phone, hot and cold water. It is conveniently located just off of the National Highway on the way out of town.

Legend in the owner's mind is more like it

I honestly cannot imagine why this hotel ever gets favorable reviews. I have read a couple on the net and quite frankly suspect they were written by someone working for the hotel. Our room was incredibly small - I mean tiny! It felt like we were in Tokyo instead of the Philippines. Also, the door to a lot of the rooms (including ours) are just a few feet away from common areas. There were drunk people yelling / partying approximately six feet from our bed. We called the front desk and they did nothing to help. These areas are also "open air" so expect to be trapped inside the smallest room ever with a bunch of hungry mosquitos. In addition, because it is open air, the street noise is quite prominent and of course is a 24/7 deal. Finally, this hotel is currently under construction and the noise levels / vibrations are simply ridiculous. After being kept up all night by the drunk people outside of our room, we were startled by the construction which began well before 8 am! Room service was adequate and the food was okay. Overall, it was a miserable experience.

Unique Quality: Smallest hotel rooms I've ever seen in the Philippines!

All Smiles Legend Hotel

The staff at the Legend Hotel always smile and say "Good morning" or "Good evening". They were very approachable, friendly and accommodating. Everywhere I go I ask, what's the best hotel in town, and people say it's the Legend Hotel. You can ask the front desk to give you a wake up call. It was really helpful, since we had to wake up at 5:00 am for our trip to St. Paul's Underground River. Our free breakfast was packed, instead of the usual buffet at the Tanglaw Restaurant. You can ask the hotel personnel to get you a tricycle to go around the city, or you can book a city tour or any other tour with the establishments affiliated with the hotel.

The room we stayed in was very clean. Had a cable TV, hot and cold shower and easy access to the pool area, which is open from 7am to 8pm. I'd definitely recommend the Legend Hotel in Puerto Princesa.

Puerto Princesa

by Yla about Legend Hotel-Palawan

Legenda arranged everything for us then, including airline, full-board meals, accommodations, tours and other transfers. All by phone and thankfully hassle-free. When we got to Puerto Princesa the hotel was very accommodating, the food was great, the rooms clean and trip schedules are orderly. Though it's still wonderful to try Puerto Princesa's cuisine thru their various restaurants and bars, it's welcome to be lazy here a The Legend. The hotel's restaurant menu offers a variety of fantastic and delicious dishes.

Palawan with 1 1/2 yr old baby

by cedricsmom

is it allowed or is it safe to bring along your 1 1/2 yr old baby in underground river and island hoping. tnx

I think they have no "rule" against bringing a toddler. However, the underground river is very dark and a toddler might find it alarming and a bit suffocating. Personally, I won't suggest it.

As for island hopping, bring a life vest for your baby plus anything that can cover his/her from the sun.
