We were given a pamphlet at the airport, but decided to check out another (popular) hotel first, as we had never heard of the Grande Suites. Thankfully we chose to check out the Grande, because it is a brand new place (end of 2011) with clean, modern rooms, quality beds, nice bathrooms, and friendly staff. We stayed in the Deluxe room at a promo rate, but the regular rate also seemed quite fair, especially when compared to the competition. The promo also included dinner and breakfast, and the food at the top-floor restaurant was quite good.
Only issue was low water pressure in the morning. The night before it was great.
The staff are wonderful, and seemed to really want to make our stay pleasant, with giving us some local tips, and dropping us off at the market with their (new) hotel van.
Bit of a strange location, since there are no other tall buildings around. On the plus side, it makes it easy to find. And I think Surigao is expanding quickly, so it's probably a well-chosen spot.
4-floor building, so no elevator.
THIS PLACE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR FOREIGN VISITORS WHO WANT TO STAY IN SURIGAO CITY FOR A MONTH OR MORE BUT DOESN'T FEEL THE NEED TO SPLURGE ON UNRESONABLY HIGH HOTEL RATES.

The best hotel so far that was established in the city with standard facilities, fine dining and entertainment.
Located a bit off from the central business district provides great living comfort and view of the city's inner suburbs. It is very near the airport and bus terminal.
