Cool weather
Tagaytay... since I was a single tagaytay is the best place for me to unwind, away from polluted city I miss the cool weather and the foggy mists of the place, i miss the horse back riding and the best bulalo in town.
km 68.9 Aguinaldo Highway, Buck Estate, Alfonso, Tagaytay, Philippines
This hotel was discovered as I was searching for Tagaytay hotels on the internet. I booked our vacation through email to the owner Adora who was so gracious. We had a great getaway at this hotel last summer . My stay with my partner was for 3 nights to relax and getaway . At first ,glance we thought it was just a small restaurant along the highway. We found the front desk very accommodating and upon mention of my reservation and name the hotel staff was aware of my booking with internet emails. We were booked at the sunset view room in building 2 and an internet lan connection was given for free use when I asked for wifi in the rooms , a dvd player free use was also given to us. Daily breakfast was served at the Taal volcano view restaurant.
We loved the balcony of our room cause we were able to have a very nice view of sunset and gardens . mountains and hills while we sit around and enjoy the cool Tagaytay air. We did not get bored with our stay cause they informed us that we can have access to the nearby country club at very minimal fees. We had an early dinner at Sonyas. On the last day , we were given assistance on Taal trek and car rental. I will definitely recommend this hotel. The rates ranging from P2500-P3500 are very affordable and yet facilities are very comfortable and staff are helpful and attentive.
Unique Quality: great views of nature, homey atmosphere and very helpful, respectful staff.

off to my hotel room
Hi, I just signed up on this site because of this forum I would like inquire if anyone can recommend a reasonable and trustworthy car or cab for rent with driver for a day in Tagaytay. My boyfriend (arriving from GA in June) and I are planning to go around Tagaytay and visit Taal lake just for a whole day anywhere between June and July. I'm planning ahead since we have so many places planned to visit and it's his first time here in the Philippines and there's just so much in our itinerary that we decided to travel conveniently (yet reasonably), since I myself am not familiar around Tagaytay on my own because my dad usually drives for us when we travel out of town. Would really appreciate your replies. Thank you in advance :)
If you are staying in one of the bigger hotels in Manila, I suggest you just make arrangements to hire the car and driver of the hotel
hi, thanks for the suggestion. although we are planning to stay in clean cheaper places (e.g. mi jo, keni po, starflower) instead and just do the splurging on activities and travel convenience. I wonder if you have any suggestions as to where we can find something to rent (or if these places i mentioned offer car hiring services)
oh i got this all wrong sorry >.<
i think he's staying with a friend.
I still live with my folks but am looking for a place to stay within ortigas/mandaluyong area (since my workplace is nearby)hopefully before he comes I should be able to find a place (last resort would be dorm -_-;;)
so i think we def need hiring services :)
Not to dampen your enthusiasm esp. in planning ahead, but June is about 5 months away. With the increasing trend in fuel prices, i don't think any driver would be willing to "close a deal" (or quote a price) with you now for travel 5-6 months away.

Tagaytay, Taal Lake and Taal Volcano are heaven for photography, especially if the weather is very good. I took a lot of photographs with my digital camera when I was there, and the photos turned out very well. If you really want good photos, I suggest you go for the trek up to Taal Volcano, it is tiring but worth the effort :)

A 15 min drive from Tagaytay on a steep road will lead you down to the lakeshore town of Talisay, Batangas.
So close to the mountain yet with a different feel down here where you're just a boat ride away from the famous volcano within a lake where there's a volcano with a lake within. Did I get that right? :-)
Talisay, Batangas is the jump off point for those who want an up close and personal look at Taal Volcano and volcano island.
We followed Philippine Star editor in chief, Ana Marie Pamintuan's advice and headed to San Roque Beach Resort where we experienced Filipino and Dutch hospitality in this cozy resort owned and managed by Lita and Leo Mercx.
Lita's son took us on the boat to take photos closer to volcano island but it was a bit late in the morning to go all around it and too hot to make the trek to the crater.
Taal lake is the best breeding ground for tilapia and an elusive fish called tawilis which the lake is known for.
Lunch, of course, was grilled, fresh tilapia and pochero (Batangas beef with a thick soup and fresh vegetables).

great views of nature, homey atmosphere and very helpful, respectful staff.
