Feedback on Tirona Apartment Hotel, Starflower Tourist Lodge or other rooms for rent

by tinmuning

Has anyone tried staying at Tirona Apartment Hotel? As much as we want to stay in the nice hotels in Tagaytay, we just need a place to sleep since we'll check in late in the evening and check out early for a wedding.

Tirona wants us to deposit full amount to have the room (good for 4) reserved for us, but I haven't seen any pictures of the room or any feedback?

Starflower Tourist Lodge is a bit more expensive but nearer to the wedding venue where we're supposed to go. Our budget is PHP2,000 - 2,500 only since we're going to stay for a short time (around 12 hours only).

Any other recommendations on rooms for rent within the above budget near Caleruega? Even those near the rotunda would be fine as long as it's not as far as those in the people's park side.

Hi there! If the wedding is to be made at Calle Ruega, the nearest place to stay would be Chateau Royale. They have lots of rooms for you to choose from. It is nestled in a sloping ground, with forest backdrop, nurseries for veggies and orchid, teambuilding venues, pool, a huge stone for vertical climbing, etc.

Given your requirements, try Potters Ridge and Casablanca. Potters' rack rates are a bit higher than your budget, but based on their website, there are months that they offer promos.

Casablanca was mentioned by someone I know. It's a house with several rooms for rent. I think it's near Leslie's.

We stayed once in the old Tirona and their rooms are very basic. When we came back in the renovated Tirona, we decided not to stay there because they would not even allow us to park in their premises.

Starflower looks more like a sleazy motel than a hotel. We did an ocular but left soonest after seeing the dingy premises.

Dont restrict yourself near the venue bec Tagaytay is such a small place to go around in. You wont find it difficult to move from your hotel to Calaruega especially early in the morning.

Hotel Dominique, Eminaroma (near Pink Sisters, Casa Marcos, Casa de Carlo(PHP1000/nt)are additional options that you may want to check out, too.

Main dining room at Sonya's Garden...
They randomly turn on the sprinkler system while you dine and it gives you an outdoorsy feeling when you hear the "rain" come down through the greenhouse roof.

The Filipinos are extremely hospitable people.

While I was in the Philippines, I realized that I was very well taken care of. The Filipinos are a helpful and chatty lot. They can converse very well in English. Be appreciative of their kind gestures, and you will find that it will take you a long way.

a very relaxing place.........my husband and i tried the Magnolia Package (aromatherapy steam bath, foot spa, manicure and pedicure, Sonya’s Signature Massage) and all i can say is that the Sonya's signature massage is the best! they will also serve you a basil tea after the massage. i wanna stay here longer next time.

Free Parking With View

The Grandview Complex is a small shopping area next to the traffic circle in Tagaytay. You can park for free there and take a look at the view from the balcony. The view is better on up the hill toward Starbucks and the Taal Vista Hotel, but it is not too shabby here either.
