El Portal Inn: Value for money Inn!

by jrpapa48

Not the triple A type of Inn but the place is quite good for its price. We arrived in Tagbilaran City at 2:20 P.M. and we were at El Portal in less than 5 minutes.

Its proximity to ATMs and Supermarket makes it ideal for us. There's also a souvenir shop across that supermarket which I suggests not to have second thoughts anymore because relatively they already cost lower compared to stores near those countryside tourist destinations.

Great location, value for money, free shuttle service to and from the airport and very helpful front desk officer!

Taver’s Pension House: Nice location, clean and affordable

by lakbayPinas

Located near most of what Tagbilaran has to offer, Taver’s Pension House offers nice, clean and affordable accommodation when touring aound the province of Bohol.

This four-storey hotel offers Standard Single and Double, as well as DeLuxe Single and Double guest rooms at very reasonable rates. All rooms are fully air-conditioned with cable TV and private toilet and bath with hot shower. All DeLuxe rooms come with a refrigerator and a phone, while the Double DeLuxe includes a bath tub.

Since I was traveling alone, I took the Standard Single for Php 630 per day (November 2009) and it was well worth it.

The ground level houses the hotel parking area and an Intenet café, and guest rooms are situated from the second level up. There is a restaurant on the third level with a view of the town of Dauis across Tagbilaran Strait in the neighboring island of Panglao. There is also a small function room at the fourth level, the rear windows of which also face Dauis in Panglao island.

The staff is very accommodating, and the service is quite good. There is a security guard on duty round the clock.

The hotel provides a free shuttle service from and to the airport or seaport.

I was not aware of this when I arrived, so I took a trike for Php 50 from the airport to get me to the hotel. Just call the hotel before arriving to arrange when the driver will pick you up at the airport or pier.

On the day I left Tagbilaran for Cebu City though, I used the service to get to the Port of Tagbilaran. Tipping the driver is really not necessary, but Php 20 would be most welcome.

Dao Diamond Bed & Breakfast Hotel: Warm & Friendly Boholano Hospitality

by cyndymc

We chose Dao Diamond Bed & Breakfast Hotel for our stay in Tagbilaran City because we prefered a quiet place over the busy, noisy life in the City proper. We read good reviews on the place we we decided to give it a try. Besides, we felt good being able to help the Int'l Deaf Education Association (IDEA) through our stay. IDEA helps the deaf children of Bohol. When you book a room with Dao Diamond, you are helping deaf children get quality education, training and support.

Dao offers guests complimentary breakfast, free shuttle service from/to airport or seaport or bus terminal. Other amenities include: Full service coffee shop, WIFI hotspot, Swimming Pool & pool side dining, Billiards, Football Game, Basketball Yard, Ample Parking, Laundry and Pressing Service, Tour arrangement, Back-up generator, and Tuktuk ride to Island City Mall.

I would definitely recommend this to fello VTers.

Well maintained and beautifully landscaped gardens, clean rooms, efficient aircon, friendly and hospitable staff.

NISA TRAVELLERS INN: TAGBILARAN ACCOMMODATION

by listenandlearn

These is called the Travellers' Inn. Located right in the very center of Tagbilaran. Upon our arrival in Tagbilaran, we had no reservations or had the vaguest idea where we were to hung our hats. Unboarded the boat and got in a tuk-tuk. We had noticed that people here are very businessminded, and the tuk-tuk driver gets a small cut if they are able to book their passengers at the local hotel. The driver first took us to a hotel that was 1,300.00Pesos per night excluding breakfast, we were not happy about the location as it was quite deserted. So, we told him will need to find a better and affordable hotel. Then took us to another hotel which was 1,000.00 Pesos per night as I entered the bathroom was horribly dirty. So, we did not check in, however, as leaving the hotel we met guests and they suggested these Travellers' Inn which is super center. We went up few steps up and check the rooms & bathrooms. Nice and super clean and to top the suggestion recommendable place. It costs only 400.00 for a double and breakfast is included. Showers & bathrooms are shared but constantly someone with a mop cleaning these place.

Affordable, clean, good breakfast and very central

BOHOL TROPICS RESORT: ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS IN BOHOL

by nodarcdam

The first time I went to Tagbilaran City in 2000, I stayed at Bohol Tropics Resort and I would say that it is one of the best hotels in Bohol. The rooms are of the cabana type and designed to mix native and continental atmosphere. The structure is concrete but from the outside, the roof is made of nipa huts and the windows and doors are laced with capiz. The rooms are big with big beds, tv/cable and nice bathrooms.

It has restaurants but the one overlooking the sea and right above the swimming pool is my favorite.

Surprisingly there was no remarkable change in room rates from the time I first checked in. The rate starts at P1,500 a day and could reach up to P2,500

Nice view of the sea, very clean, well manicured lawn and big rooms

TAVER'S PENSION HOUSE: LESS EXPENSIVE HOTELS/INNS II

by nodarcdam

Taver's Pension House is located at Remolador Street, Tagbilaran City. it is smaller than Criscentville but relatively newer. The rooms have ample space with basic facilities and amenities. It has a hot and cold water but there is no telephone inside the room. It is also near BQ mall and if you fancy grilled food or drink beer, it is very near the food stalls which is called "Teritoryo". The rates start at P600 a day.

The best thing about this pension house is the price.

CRISCENTVILLE PENSION HOUSES: LESS EXPENSIVE HOTELS/INNS I

by nodarcdam

There are numerous inns, pension houses and small hotels in Tagbilaran City which are reasonably priced. These are for those who would stay out exploring the other towns of Bohol and just use the inns and hotels as sleeping quarters.

Criscentville Pension House is located at Gallares Street, Tagbilaran City. It occupies the three floors of teh 4 storey building. One side of the building faces the Tagbilaran Strait and has a good view of the sunset and the other side has a good view of the City. It has a KTV bar at the first floor and the fourth floor. It is near BQ Mall and a lot of shops nearby. The rooms have ample space with basic facilities and amenities. It is advisable to check the room first as the inner rooms have dead spots which will render your cellular phones inutile. The room rates start at P600.

The best thing about this pension house is the price.

METRO CENTRE, TAGBILARAN CITY: YOU WONT RUN OUT OF PLACE TO STAY IN TAGBILARAN

by nodarcdam

When travelling in Bohol, the best place to stay is in Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol Province. There are a lot of hotels, inns and pension houses in Tagbilaran City. One of the best hotels is Metro Center along C.P. Garcia Avenue. It has complete facilities and amenities of a good hotel. The service is commendable. Just like any place in Bohol, the hotel personnel is generally friendly and helpful. it is situated near the market, BQ Mall and other establishments for personal provisions. This hotel is highly recommended for those who want an above average accomodation. it is, however, advisable to book one's stay two weeks before the intended stay as the hotel and better inform the hotel if you are a smoker as they have limited rooms for smoking.

The rate per day

P1,250 for standard room
P1,450- 1,700 for superior rooms
P1,950- 2,400 for de luxe room

The hotel room is comfortable with hot and cold water. The hotel has business center and leisure/recreation facilities. It has a 24 hour restaurant and it has a disco/ktv.
