Treetops Executive Residences: Resort living in Singapore

by lovetravel123

My entire family really enjoyed our stay at treetops, the service and facilities have clearly exceeded our expectations. It is the great attitude and very friendly service of staff members that make us want to call this place home.

Great service by all staff, beautiful pool and lush greenery!

Royal Plaza on Scotts: Clever Marketing

by freespirit1

I have stayed at this hotel several times but it has gone up 10 times in price and down 20 times in service and ammenities. This last visit I had to be moved 3 times as the lighting kept blowing and each time the room smelt of cigarettes and considering this has been a non smoking hotel for several years I did not find it a pleasant experience.
You are supposed to get free wi fi but it kept dropping out in all of the rooms I have stayed in several years, they do however have an excellent internet area by the bar.
Location can not be faulted - has to be the best spot in Singapore with the transport link and shoppping right at the doorstep.
For women travelling alone this is a safe place.
The retaurant however is excellent

The pool area is great as is the lobby and the restaurant comes highly recommended if not a little pricey.

Hotel Grand Pacific: Hotel Grand Pacific

by Cathy&Gary

We booked this hotel for a week through Asia Reservations and at the time they were the absolute cheapest. We stayed in a Premier Room which came with free breakfast, free wifi, free minimart and a fruit platter.

This hotel was formerly called the Allson Hotel and we had been through here many times before as we use to stay at the Royal at Queens which is connected to this hotel by a walkway.

The location on Victoria Street is fantastic, MRT stations only a couple of minutes walk, there is a mini mart and atm next door to the hotel plus a 24hour eatery. Five minutes down the road is Bugis Street, Chijmes, Raffles Hotel. The hotel also has a coin operated laundry on site which is also handy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Grand Pacific and would stay there again, but only in the Premier rooms as the standard rooms are much smaller and no where near as nice.

The Regent: A Four Seasons Hotel: Elegant Touch

by triplehelix

Fantastic stay! The Regent has been around for almost 30 years. What would normally cost you $300+ per night cost me $0 for four nights. I work for the Four Seasons and it has it's perks aka free stays at higher end accommodation. My good friend Mazlina is the Chef Concierge at the hotel so we did a mini tour of the facility before showing me to my fabulous room and view of rainy Singapore.

Service is of the utmost importance whenever you're at a Four Seasons. There is no task too unreasonable to handle :)

Though it's showing it's age, it's still rather elegant. The lobby comes complete with a bar and restaurant facility. The upper 4 floors cater to VIP guests with lounge access (which I was happily granted thanks to my friend!). Free breakfast and internet in the lounge area. The hotel is situated a bit away from the action but it's a short walk to Orchard Blvd and a ton of shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop just out front of the hotel and taxi's are plentiful. Keep in mind the hotel doesn't normally cater to the touristy types. You'll find the majority of guests are here on business judging by the laptops, blackberries, and cups of empty coffee floating around at any given time. It's also close to the embassy district and little America suburb neighborhoods that wouldn't look out of place in uptown New York. The Concierge desk can still help you organize city tours and transportation anywhere.

Orchard Hotel: Another Expensive Hotel in Singapore

by gaolei

This is a 4 star hotel, so be prepared to pay for everything. The hotel was as good as anyone could expect. The room was clean, modern and comfortable. The internet was fast and the TV was a little hard to work, but ok. The bad part was costs. The room is over 200 Singapore dollars. The internet is 28 more, breakfast will cost 32. 60 dollars extra per day for internet and breakfast!! Some people managed to get breakfast included, but I booked with the wrong company.

The hotel is directly next to the Orchard Towers! This place is noted for it's working girls from all over SE Asia! There are also a lot of men walking the street looking at the women on display and bargaining for the best price. They will probably make a monetary proposition to your wife or daughter as they walk to the local shopping. If this bothers you, find somewhere else.

EX Alexandria Hotel Now Aspinals Hotel: Budget Accommodation

by explore_discover

It was long time ago, it was Alexandria Hotel in front of Mustafa Stores, clean and comfortable bed, Air conditioned, TV, Tiny Attached bath which suited my budget,

I Paid SG$55.00 that time, now its re named as Aspinals Hotel (Managed by Claremont Hotel Singapore) and I think it is still good price at SG$80.00 for Single Standard Room

Easy Access to MRT and surrounded by many food outlets.

Ambassador Transit Hotel - Terminal 3: Short stay rooms - Changi Airport

by GrumpyDiver

We caught a few hours of much needed sleep after arriving from Brunei on our way back home to Canada.

This worked out very well for us.

Small, fairly spartan but clean rooms for a few hours sleep for transit passengers. The rooms are rented out in 6 hour blocks. They are not cheap, but you don't have to clear customs and go through security on the way back in, so if you are looking for a short sleep, they do make sense.

ABC Backpackers Hostel: Brand new & clean

by Willettsworld

Upon arrival in Singapore (March 2009), we first tried the Cozy Corner Backpackers in Bugis but they were full up and recommended to us this brand new hostel located near to the Sultan Mosque in the Arab Street area, about 500m northeast of Bugis MRT. We arrived at the hostel to find rooms available and everything to be shiny and new with immaculately clean bathrooms (including a massive disabled bathroom) - a far contrast to the Cozy Corner Backpackers which was dingy, smelly, small, compact and old. We were rather pleased with ourselves at the outcome and shared a 4-berth room with a German guy we'd met at Bugis MRT for the first night before having the room to ourselves. Facilities include luggage lockers, about 6 free internet PC's, a simple breakfast of toast/jam & coffee/tea, a/c and laundry service. The only thing the hostel lacks is a communial area but it's great at everything else.

Update 12/9/11: Stayed here again for one night and now there's a communial area at the front where the internet PC's used to be (don't know where these are now). Free wifi is also available plus they've made the rear counrtyard area much bigger with lots of tables and seats. It has a bit more of a lived in feeling that when I first visited 2.5 yrs ago!

Haising Hotel: Best value for money in Singapore

by sybille

Am I glad that I chanced upon the Haising Hotel!

The Haising Hotel is very centrally located in Jl Besar, near the Sim Lim Tower - Rochor Centre, and only about 5 minutes by foot from the Queen Street Singapore-Malaysia Bus Terminal. It's also only about 10 minutes by foot from Bugis MRT, which is on the EW Line, and an easy ride from/to Changi Airport.

I came straight from the airport, arriving a little earlier than expected - not a problem. Quick registration at the reception and up to my room for a shower and rest. I have a small, single room, but it has everything I need - aircon, private bathroom with lovely hot water, electric kettle for boiling water, TV (which I don't really need), WIFI, telephone. The hotel is spotlessly clean, probably the cleanest budget hotel I have ever stayed in. The bed is very comfortable, the room gets cleaned every day, and towels/linen are changed daily.

There are three reception staff whom I have met, and all are friendly and helpful, answering this tourist's questions patiently!
