Affordable hotel, good location

The hotel does not have a big, fancy lobby but that's a minor issue for me. The room size is just right, even if we were 3 people in a room with an extra bed put in. The bathroom was clean with good towels and complimentary toiletries. The room has complimentary bottled water (though the tap water was potable), tea and coffee. They even have a ceiling fan to boost the airconditioning if the weather was unbearably hot. There are designated smoking floors. The rate does not include breakfast which was OK as there was a food or hawker center outside the hotel where the food was about 70-80% cheaper. The place has a gym and jacuzzi (no pool) but we didn't get to use them. Can't comment about the food as we did not eat in its resto.

I would certainly recommend this place for the room quality and price as well as level of service.

Unique Quality: The location is optimal for those who wish to buy and shop at Little India rather than at Orchard Rd. for the designer label goods. It is accessible to a food hawker center and MRT station.

Long Stayover in Singapore

you will end up paying for two days. or you may be able to get away with paying one full day and the second day just the day rate, and if you are a frequent stayer at hotel chains, they might allow you to stay free.
try various good hotels, around 100-150 aud and explain the situation and see what they say. budget hotels like hotel 81 are not suitable for the little one, you need a proper hotel. compare the prices from asiarooms, wotif and then look a the website of the hotel directly. if you are coming during a period when there are no great conventions, you should be alright. the prices have increased about 20 to 25 % in the last year. Also staying near a busy area such as orchard road or little india would be good for you to take the little one out for a stroll and get distracted. I change planes in Singapore often but for a person or a couple, budget hotels are okay but they are no great shakes..

Unique Quality: by selecting a proper hotel, with a proper lobby, it would be convenient for you to be with your two year old child
the taxi systems in Singapore is superb so getting to the hotel and back to the airport should pose no problem

A Basic Hotel

We had a very basic room in a different building from the reception. We had the keys to open the door to enter to the building because had not receptionist nor bellman.
The room definitely needs a renovation specially in the bathroom and a good cleanness to remove the smell of mould.
Breakfast was just ok, not much variety in a very small restaurant.
Didn't like the location, didn't seem very safe, but is very close to little India and Mustafa Store 24 hours and there is a MRT station near.

Stylish Singapore Hotel

We had two "stopover" stays at the Albert Court Hotel and would recommend it to anyone, we will certainly stay there again ourselves. On our first visit, en route to Auckland, NZ, we arrived in the late afternoon and were flying out in the early morning so we were there to sleep basically. We were upgraded to a family room in the new complex across the court from the main hotel. This was a large room was a king size ++ bed and a single too, the usual coffee making facilities, tv, great shower/bath/wc (needed that after the humidity of the city!), air-conditioning....all you would expect and bags of space. We had a peaceful, undisturbed sleep and the hotel ordered us a 6.00 a.m. taxi as promised (extra charge of $2.50 but the taxi then totalled $14, the same as the shuttle from the airport at $7 each). On our way home we had more time to enjoy the Albert Court Hotel and to explore Singapore. We had a room in the main hotel (very colonial in style, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere) and our bathroom had the most powerful power shower I have ever experienced. Again, all you would expect - tv, phone, coffee-making etc etc. and very comfortable beds with crisp cotton sheets. The buffet breakfast was great, with both local and European diets catered and attentive staff on hand to help. Lunch and dinner is also available although we didn't sample it. We spent the day exploring the city and we able to come and go to our room (for those power showers) whenever we liked and also able to check out at 4.00 p.m. as we had an evening flight.

Unique Quality: Late check out (4.00 p.m.) for those taking evening flights.
Colonial style but not fussy.
Free drink (I recommend the great lime cordial) on arrival or at sometime during your stay.
Close to Little India. MRT and bus stops very close by.

Above all the Albert Court Hotel felt like a hotel in Singapore with all the comforts of home, rather than one of those souless, corporate image places that could be anywhere in the world!

a fancy tall building next to little india

Unique Quality: walking along the street in a shower rain, an old building looks so interesting. not only about its architecture, but six pointed star there on top as the icon, with a word there 'david elias buildynos 1923'. not so far from this place, again i find a fancy old building with several different colours on the wall. from orange, yellow, dark yellow [not yet turn into orange :)] with 'signboard' albert court hotel. this is an 8-storey boutique hotel, with shophouse style building.

Albert Court Hotel 4*

Albert Court Hotel is located strategically at the junction of Rochor Canal Road and Selegie Road. It is within walking distance from Little India, Arab Street and Bugis Village where it is famous for their colour, vitality and culture.

Albert Court Hotel is also easily accessible by the Bugis MRT and Little India MRT which is a short walking distance from the hotel.

This 8 storey boutique hotel is designed to blend in with the antiquated architecture of the shophouses.

More about Albert Court Hotel

Completely Satisfied with Albert Court Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member Kpow

For travellers on a budget, can recommend this well-located hotel in Singapore. Our room was in the courtyard area and comprised a king size bed, five pillows, TV with CNN and 2 free movie channels and small bar fridge. Bathroom was new with lots of hot water. Air-con worked well. Room was clean and more than adequate for a couple who were out exploring most of the day and wanted somewhere comfortable to come home to at night. Staff were friendly and helpful. In the courtyard there are 2 jacuzzis, a steam room and gym. Not a 5 star property but a pleasant surprise for the price. We loved being in Little India with the great ethnic restaurants all around. FoodMore foodhall provided cheap and interesting meals and is just across the road. MRT is only 5 minutes walk away. Walking distance to Raffles area, Bugis Junction and Arab Street. Orchard Road is 20 minutes walk away. We would happily stay at the Albert Court again.

I did, about two years ago, and I wouldn’t mind staying there again. I thought it was a good hotel with friendly staff and nice rooms decorated in Southeast Asian style – fans hanging from the ceiling included! It’s within walking distance of the Indian quarter, and not too far from Orchard Road and the business centre – you can walk to both, although the heat and humidity Singapore is infamous for may discourage you to do so.
