Great Inner City Destination

I used this as a stop off on the way to India to pick up my adopted daughter (Ron). Wonderful base from which to see the city. The area, in and out of the hotel, was immaculate. Highly recommended.

Nice place not far from central

So.... this is the Hotel I'm always staying in Singapore Business Trip. In fact I used to stay there for 1 month! Well, my office is very near from the Hotel which makes it very convinient but the Hotel is a really good value. The price per night include breakfast is around SIN$120-150/night
The Hotel was renovated 3 years a go so everything still looks new. The decor is minimalist with a touch of wood everywhere. I love the Bed and Pillows....very cozy! The only drawback is they don't have CABLE TV... meaning no Star World :((
Breakfast is quite good...but needs more variety.
They have a chinese restaurant which has a very yummie taiwanese Noodle (Must try!) and the seven treasure tea... which is new for me... the Waiter is pouring us tea from a pot with very long neck... (am I confusing you?)
They have a Lounge.... which plays Jazzy music (quite good actually)
One of the good thing about this hotel is they have Amara Shopping Center next to it which has a Charles & Keith outlet *My favorite :)*, some sushi place which sells sushi 50% off at night and a food court on 3rd floor.
It's also close to Tanjong Pagar MRT station - so.... this is well recommended hotel to stay
oh..oh... they have a nice swimming pool and a small GYM. Too bad they only have Treadmill, bicycle and step thingy and some weight lifting stuff. There is a spa... which I never go to as all spa in Singapore are pricey :P

Singapore Hotels in CBD

by stleger

Hi there

My boss is staying in Singapore for 3 days and needs to be close to the MRT station and/or near Orchard Road. I've done some research and found the following hotels:

- M Hotel
- The Fullerton
- Furama City Centre
- Amara Singapore

If possible, could someone please give me a review on these hotels and which one they would recommend he should to stay at?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Mandy

Furama City Centre is situated very close to Chinatown. Very conveniently situated near the Chinatown MRT, but requires a quick transfer at Dhoby Ghaut MRT to get to Orchard MRT. Only three stations between Chinatown and Orchard MRTs. Quick and easy.

I would rate Furama City Centre a solid 3 star, perhaps even a 3.5 star. The rooms are neat and tidy with mini fridge, TV, bathroom (including bath/shower) and the room service is good. The buffet breakfasts offer variety and are filling.

The Fullerton would be quite a step up from Furama in terms of luxury.

Hope this helps.

iF yor boss needs to be close to the MRT , check out the Grand Park City Hall, it has business executive rooms with own breakfast room and afternoon drinks included. The MRT is very close.

I am going to Singapore on 15th May and have booked the Swissotel Merchant Court, another good hotel, we are on holiday, but I rang them direct and received a very good rate on a Business Advantage room with view over river. They also have the Club rooms with breakfast and drinks package.

Good Luck,
Mike

We loved the Fullerton - definitely first class all the way. Unfortunately I cannot remember how close it was to the MRT - that wasn't one of requirements. :-)
