Do you have an early morning flight? Rather than worrying about the MRT and Taxis, why don’t you stay IN the Airport? There are 2 Transit Hotels located in Terminals 1 and 3. They have rooms in ‘Block’ of 6 hours, but you can stay as long as you like. They charge by the hour after the first Block. The better of the 2 is in Terminal 1 as you will have free access to the Swimming Pool & sundeck, Jacuzzi and Gymnasium! Even if you do not stay here, you can still pay and use these facilities by going to their desk in Terminal 1. I did!

They have 2 types of rooms:

BUDGET ROOMS (Shared showers & toilets)
    • Wake-up call service (now that’s important!)
    • Colour TV
    • International telephone access

    • En-suite bathroom
    • Complimentary coffee & tea making facility

    * Reservations can be made personally at our reception counter or via fax, telephone or online
    * Advance reservation of 3 to 4 weeks is advisable
    * Reserved room(s) will be held for 45 minutes after arrival of flight or 15 minutes after requested reserved time. Flight delays will be taken into account
    * Rates are non-negotiable. Prepayments are non-refundable
    * Payment upon check-in
    * Room rates quoted are based on a minimum charge of One Block (6 Hours)

    Unique Quality:

    • A Swimming Pool/Sundeck, Jacuzzi and Gymnasium (available in Terminal 1 only)
    • Business Centre
    • Passenger Meeting Service
    • Transpa (Hair, Beauty, Aromotherapy)
    • Dining (Poolbar & Vegetarian options) – basic, you can go into the terminal for better options
    • Recreation (Shower, Gym, Swimming)

Directions: Ambassador Transit Hotel Terminal 1 is situated within the Departure Transit Lounge East at the Split point leading to Gates E20 to E28 and D30 to 49

    Transit Hotel: must meet requirements!

For those with connecting flights in Singapore, you are allowed to stay at the Transit Hotel which is located after the immigration checkpoints in Terminal 1 and 2. Recently, I arrived at 1 a.m. and did not want to go into the city to a hotel. The Transit Hotel did allow me to stay even though I was not a transit passenger. People who have not checked into their flights do not have access to the airside part of the terminal where the transit hotels are located.

The Changi airport website has a link. In 2006, a single room was about $57 (approx. US$40) with a bath and cheaper for a shared bath.

The hotel is quiet even though about half of the rooms in the Terminal 1 transit hotel overlook the gates. You may enjoy the view although you will only have a view of one gate.

Here's a photo of some of the free internet terminals in Terminal 2. There is free internet in Terminal 1 and 2. I do not know if they are available in the new Budget Terminal.

Unique Quality: Very convenient for airport passengers.

Airport Hotel - You'll Be Glad to See It

by hongkong88 about Ambassador Transit Hotel

There are actually two location in Singapore international Airport but it's the same iwner and name. The rooms are plain, almost spartan. But if you are just in from a long flight from the states or Europe you'll be happy to see. The front desk staff was very friendly both then we checked in at midnite and when we checked out 7 hours later. The price isn't bad by Singapore standards. I didn't mind the noise from taxiing airplanes (even at 1 AM) but the snell of kerosene was bothersome. But what can you do, your at an airport.

Short stay rooms - Changi Airport

by GrumpyDiver about Ambassador Transit Hotel - Terminal 3

We caught a few hours of much needed sleep after arriving from Brunei on our way back home to Canada.

This worked out very well for us. Small, fairly spartan but clean rooms for a few hours sleep for transit passengers. The rooms are rented out in 6 hour blocks. They are not cheap, but you don't have to clear customs and go through security on the way back in, so if you are looking for a short sleep, they do make sense.

At least you can have a shower.

Singapore Airport Hotel

We stayed in this hotel for approx 6 hours and really it’s just a crash pad and a place to unwind before a long haul flight.

Our room had no windows....but it did have a comfortable double bed and tea/coffee facilities which was needed. There is an average size bathroom with soap/shampoo and towels supplied.

The best thing about this hotel is it’s directly across the corridor to the swimming pool. We had a swim to relax and a drink at the pool bar which was really civilised.

I don’t think you can really fault this hotel for the purpose it serves. It provides a service to travellers who wish to have a shower or rest for a few hours. It is very cheap and one should not expect a five star hotel. It’s just a crash pad for weary travellers.

PROS: A true crash pad. fantastic for relaxing and free use of the swimming pool for a little exercise. Tea and coffee facilities, plus bathroom.

CONS: No windows..Non smoking hotel. One has to go to the swimming pool if you want a cigarette.

RECOMMENDATION: sleep and to refresh.

ONLY ABOUT TRANSIT IN CHANGI AIRPORT. The Ambassador Transit Hotel allows you to sleep, shower, etc. without leaving the transit area. This is especially good if you must transit in Singapore with a long layover. For example, you come in from Jakarta before midnight and have to wait for the first early morning flight out to the U.S.
The rooms are rented in SIX HOUR BLOCKS at SIN$56.65 for a Single and SIN$63.45 for a Double. There is also a Budget Single (common shower and toilet down the hall) for SIN$39.66.

When you make a reservation (highly recommended at least a week in advance) you must include arrival date, time and airline to Singapore and departure date, time and airline from Singapore. You need not guarantee the reservation with a credit card.

REMEMBER YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE TRANSIT AREA IF YOU PLAN TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL. ONCE YOU GO THROUGH IMMIGRATION YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REENTER THE AIRPORT AREA UNTIL C. TWO HOURS BEFORE YOUR ONGOING FLIGHT. The rooms are airconditioned and big (by standards in Asia). There is a gym for working out and an outdoor swimming pool. It is also within walking distance of all the duty-free shops.

by AusPinay about Ambassador Transit Hotel

After staying at the city centre in Singapore, we transferred to this hotel which is inside the airport itself! We were amazed as we didn't think a hotel accommodation in side the airport can be comfy. However, our room was alright, all four of us has a single bed and the facilities are fine for a short stay.

There is a swimming pool, pool bar, gym and the bonus, we were near to all the shopping in the airport! We didn't get to use the pool though.

We had a bit of trouble finding it at the huge Changi airport as I just booked it through the phone so we rang them again to ask for directions. Staff was quite helpful. As it is inside superb Changi airport, we were close to the shopping and restaurants, etc. We were also sure not to miss our early flight to Sydney. We were scared to get caught in traffic that's why we moved out of our hotel in downtown Singapore.

It is even a cheaper hotel than the one we first took. Noise wasn't a problem so it was a pleasant but very short stay!

I have a 9 hour night lay over and planning on staying at this hotel. Any comments at all. Does your luggage go with you or do you need an overnight bag whilst your big bag is in transit?
Any advice would be great, cheers.Maxine

In our case, all of our checked luggage was checked through to our final destination and we did not have access to it. We has everything we needed in our hand luggage.

Remember the rooms are rented in 6 hour blocks. shows images of the room we had at Terminal 3 at Changi Airport.

T3 Ambassador is very good standard, dont know about T2
You can extend the initial 6 hour block in 1 hour increments, and if you advise flight details, then your checkin time will move to cater for late arrival. They will give yo a wake-up call.
You should confirm your booking a few days before travel
