Amidst The Curry

Year: 2004 S$45. Budget Hotel

i booked a fren into this INN.
For the amount you pay, the room is very clean and well maintained. The lobby area is also very well kept with it's contemporary decor. Helpful staff.

It's in Little India. Easy to find food, mostly Indian Cuisine, you can learn and experience the culture here. Food and drink is clean. There's a shopping centre, Mustafa & Son, where you can do your grocery shopping. There's the Tekka Market, a wet market & hawker centre, where you can find a variety of food. I will recommend the Masala Dhosai, Nasi Bryani or Rojak Mama. Don't forget the Teh Tarik (Tea w/ milk) On the second floor, you can find reasonably price indian clothing like sari and punjabis.

Accessible to city area by public transport which is about 10 mins to the city.

Would definitely recommend if you are looking for no frills yet privacy provided accommodation.

Well, my fren was very satisfied with his stay there.

If you are indeed from Bangalore, you should like the place as it is in Little India and has lots of Indian eateries around. It is also a stone throw's away from Mustafa, the 24-hours megamall. Their website is:

http://web.singnet.com.sg/~asphoinn/index.htm

But otherwise, go NSS as both its location and service are far better. The staff at Hotel Asphodel are kind of rude and likes to talk really loudly in Tamil / Hindi (I am not sure) in a quarelling kind of tone regardless of whether there are other guests around or not.

Another hotel to consider if you are really interested to stay in the Little India or Farrer Road area, is The Aspinals Hotel (http://www.aspinals.com.sg/). It is both newer and has better service than Asphodel Inn.

Just my 2 cents.... :-)
