Value for Money

Stayed here with my 2 teenage daughters. Good location, walking distance to MRT 10 mins, longer walk to the main shopping areas of Orchard Rd 15 mins. Reasonable breakfast, clean spotless good sized rooms. Staff friendly and very helpfull. We arrived at 4 am and our booking was ready, they don't have connecting rooms but we got rooms next to each other. Pool is fantastic, very welcome on the usual steamy Singapore days. 2 24 hour food courts right next door. I would certainly stay here here again and would gladly recommend this hotel. I thought it was excellent value for money in Singapore.

Good value hotel

Centrally located. Compact but clean rooms with room safe and free coffee. Excellent bathrooms. Friendly staff. Free internet. Best thing is the location - walk to Bugis, Raffles area and even orchard road. Next door to 24 hour hawker centre (good meal for under S$5) and 7-11 store.

Unique Quality: Small roof top pool with city views. laundry facilities too.

Good Budget Hotel

It was a package trip that me and my husband got so I didnt expect much of the hotel. Surprisingly, its a good hotel. Clean. They have a small gym that my husband likes a lot eventhough it only has 2 equipments (it can actually fit just 2 equipments), a treadmill and something a Not gym buff like me wouldn't know. Across the mini gym is a mini lap pool. They have free WiFi. I brought my laptop and stupid me forgot to bring an adaptor. The electrical outlet has 3 prongs and my 2 prongs just wont fit. I went to the lobby and ask if I could rent one and they actually just let me borrow. Sweet. The bad thing was there wasn't that much choice for breakfast, unless you want cereal overload.

The City Bayview Hotel 3*

The City Bayview Hotel is strategically located at the crossroads of the main shopping belts such as Bugis, Orchard Road, Marina Square, Raffles City Tower, Suntec City & Convention Centre, Singapore Management University, Nangyang Academy of Fine Arts and business district.

It is just a stone's throw away from the Bugis MRT and bus station, Little India and National Museum.

City Bayview Hotel

This 3 star hotel is in the biz and hotel area. Its nothing special about this hotel but I was satisfied.

Positives:
- What I liked most about the hotel was the bed and the pillows. They were pretty comfy.
- There are 7/11 and a food center " Kobitiam" right next door. So if you get hungry in the middle of the night, its easy.
- You can walk to Orchard Rd. and Little India about 15 mins walk each.

Negatives:
- Their breakfast was rather boring. The same things for the whole week! I think its fine if you only stay there for a few days.
- The room cleaning service wasnt terribly impressive.
- The pool is closed at 7pm. Too early for people who're on a biz trip!

More about Bayview Hotel Singapore

plush hotel on a budget

by TripAdvisor Member SimonB6

stayed here for 3 nights recently and really enjoyed the stay! the hotel was under some renovation out front but wasnt major and didnt disturb us, the reception is nothing special but staff were freindly and knowledgable, our room was lovely, very smart, clean, modern and well laid out with all the usuals plus a great bathroom! we were v impressed altho the view was...well a wall! the rooftop pool is excellent, great views and place to sunbathe altho pool was small, as was gym, in fact rly its not a gym so dont be fooled! it does have a sauna and laudry facilites which we didnt use but looked pretty good. location wise it was ok, bit of a walk to nearest metro station tho and v close to a little part in the road where prostitutes frequently advertised from! - all in all a v good hotel for a good price though

Good as long as your rooms not next to elevator

by TripAdvisor Member Richard_Christou

Situated a short 5 minute walk from a metro station makes this hotel ideal for getting around and seeing the sights. Its also located near the main Orchard Road shopping street. The hotel itself is a clean affair, betting than I was expecting.

The rooms are compact but clean, bring your portable DVD player though as only 1 english channel! The air con was ok, nothing special. Had tea making facilities which was a bonus. I stayed on the 13th floor (should of guessed something from that!). My room was situated adjacent to the elevators so had the pleasure of hearing them all night long, making for a rather poor nights sleep. Breakfast (which i wasn't expecting) was a simple buffet affair but alright because you can eat as much as you can!!

If you get a better room than me this would be a reasonably priced hotel in a good area. Request a room away from the elevator!

Nothing Special

by TripAdvisor Member hydepark

I decided to stay at this hotel after reading rave reviews from Tripadvisor members. It was okay, but I left wondering what is so great about it. OK, the price is good, if you're looking for budget accomodation that isn't too shabby, this is perfect. On entering the room, it was clean. It was disappointing to find that the room only contained a shower stall and no bathtub, although the water pressure from the shower was as good as you could find in a 5-star hotel. Also disappointing was that the room was connected to the next guest room by a locked door, something which seems to be the norm in hotels these days. I could hear the guest in the next room talking on the phone. Also disappointing, even though I had been warned by Tripadvisor reviews, was the limited number of TV channels. The most well-known channel was Channel News Asia. You couldn't even get CNN. TV wasn't really a option for entertainment, so I turned in early for the night. On the plus side, room 903 faced Bencoolen Street, so had a pretty decent view of the street as well as other hotels. At night, the view was even better. It was a pity when checking out, front desk didn't bother to thank me for staying there and didn't bother to get a taxi for me. But this is a budget hotel, so maybe asking for a little extra service is unreasonable. I guess you stay here for the price, not the service.

Great Location

by TripAdvisor Member cookchan

Bayview has a really nice location. It's a short taxi ride to Orchard Road and just a few steps away Bugis Street where shopping is absolutely great.! What you find in Orchard is in Bugis and cheaper.... If you're a techie freak, SIMLIM Towers is a few steps away. Talk about restaurants and great food, it's all over...
Rooms are basic, clean and loved the toilet. It's newly renovated that's why. The lobby may not be very attractive but the rooms are more important for me.

One thing i should say that needs improvement is the Buffet. The selections are not so impressive to my taste. Good thing I'm not much of a breakfast person.
