A very pleasant mid-range tourist/business hotel in Chinatown, if a little more expensive than some of the other places nearby. Room rates start at S$98 including breakfast. See www.chinatownhotel.com/room_rates.html for latest rates.
Chinatown: Reasonable budget hotel with good service
Satisfaction:

I was looking for a budget hotel with easy access to the heart of Chinatown. The Chinatown Hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes' walk from the market streets and the food street of Chinatown. It is also a 5 minute walk from 2 MRT (subway) stations, Outram Park and Chinatown. Outram Park is a major MRT hub, and is also on the Changi Airport MRT line, which makes it easily accessible from the airport. The rooms have a bit of a shabby appearance, but are adequate. A very basic continental breakfast is served in a corner of the lobby. The service at the hotel Reception was remarkably good and friendly. I checked out in the morning and left my luggage there until the evening, aiming to pick it up on my way to the airport. When I came to take my luggage in the evening the receptionist offered to open a vacant room for me , so that I can take a shower and change. All things considered, The Chinatown Hotel was a reasonable choice.
