    • We moved here from our disastrous two-day one night (booked on the internet) stay at the Gallery Hotel. More on that under the Gallery hotel.
    The Copthorne is just a little out of the way if you are looking for a buslting street as you step out of your hotel (somewhere on Orchard Rd. would do that for you).
    But its deliciously close to Newton circus, where we spent our last night in Singapore with just 45 dollars on hand, loads of food from make-shift Bombay Chowpatty-style (for those in the know, this will conjure up the image pretty nicely) and chugging beer after beer and doing so much of people watching while slowly getting nice and sozzled, But always remembering we had to save 6$ for our taxi ride back.
    The Copthorne is one of those slightly un-involved places, if you get what I mean. It runs well, one might say, and there's not too much pomp and show, if you get my drift...

    we had a delightful stay at the copthorne. The rooms were very comfortable and the bed was excellent. rooms were air conditioned and temperature was easy to set. This is a good value accomodation for its price. the facade could be improved but the rest is fine.

    The hotel has a pool which is average in size but is clean and refreshing as all pools should be. It has a gynasium with two running machines one cycle and a weight machine with four stations. It has a lot of free weights as well.

    • stayed here from the 12th - 21st november n had a fantastic time..yes it is a bit away from the action but there is a coach to drop one to orchard n also pick up. though no mrt is close
    by taxi s are cheap n one can reach any part below 20 sin dollars. since we were a family
    it was nice as one had a point to point drop. the room was fantastic big n clean though most
    reviews said prepare for the worst. break fast was good though repetitive so at the end of 2 weeks one did get fed up. though good value for money. the staff was prompt and attentive. did stay in the plymouth section of the hotel where the rooms are bit spacious with a balcony attached.

    quiet in its own way n nice a good place to chill out after a long tiring day either shopping or sightseeing. a nice petrol pump close by so one cud pick up essentials if needed
    cos room rates for beers etc were exhorbitant.

    • We checked in around 9pm by a very friendly manager who happily extended our checkout time from 12pm to 2pm as our flight was a midnight, she also gave us a king size bed.
    I must say that the room were air conditioned and almost new. This hotel is a good value for money for its price. There is also a free shuttle to Orchard road every hour and at 20 mins past the hour
    The hotel has a pool which is very clean. There are multiple tour operators present next to the bell counter ( concierge), The hotel was very kind to extend my stay till 7pm the night I was leaving when they heard I was ill from the $15 burger I ate at Night Safari. The hotel even made calls to ask us if there was anything the we could be helped with even sending us a fresh pair of towels. I haven't seen such service for a while not even in Australia.
    Would definitely recommend the Copthorne Orchid not only for it's value but also for the friendly staff

    The room was great with a balcony, Beds were relaxing to sleep in , with 2 extra pillows available. The toilets were nice and clean to use. Room service was good and efficient.

    • This hotel is quite a bit out of the main shopping areas of Orchid Road but taxi cost about $8-10 Singapore Dollars to get almost anywhere. The hotel staff are not the most appoachable people and can be very hard to understand. The internet their was quite expensive so didnt use it.
    We had trouble with our first room as toilet was not flushing but after 3 attempts of maintenance person to fix we were upgraded to a better room across carpark where we had a balcony overlooking the city and next to Raffles Club.
    The hotel is about a 200m walk to a service station where you can buy your drinks a bit cheaper than the mini-bar which was very dear. $5 for a can of coke!!!
    The pool was in great condition but right on the highway so was a bit noisy. The gym had all the equipment for a workout.
    If go back to Singapore again will probally like to stay a bit closer to action but would be happy to stay here if on overnight stay. Was easy to get to zoo about $10 SGD.

    Pool-The pool has a deep and shallow end and you can pick up a towel from around pool. It is very close to the main road.
    Gym- Excersise bike, 2 x treadmills, free weights and benchpress machine. Very clean and tidy

    • This hotel has excellant views from their top floors on downtown Singapore.

    The staff is very friendly and the general impression is that the service is higher than average.
