Hi On route to New Zealand we will be staying i night in Singapore 2nd Nov '10.
My husband wants some night vision binoculars. Any ideas on good ones to buy and where to get best price in Singapore??

The tourist office has a booklet with recommended stores in Singapore. Most shops that sell cameras probably have the night vision binoculars as well. I don't know whether those stores are always the cheapest option, but I would say chances are, you don't get a cheap fake model.
I have to say all the people I met here was one of the major appeals to me during my trip. Like everywhere else in the world you go and meet up with VTers and others willing to meet someone from the internet out and about, you will find and say the people are great. I was glad to see Singapore yet another example of that on this trip. As well as those in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur on this same trip.
There are only two seasons in Singapore. Dry season and rainy season.
Singapore suffered for monsoon as other SEAsia country such as Malaysia and Thailand. The rain volumn can be very high near end of the year where the rain could fall almost everyday. The monsoon starts during the end of October.
If you are visiting Singapore during this period, prepare unbrella or rain coat with you. It is never too heavy when you need to use it..
Every year, the Chinese community celebrates their most important festival - Lunar New Year. This is a celebration of a fresh start to the year. Something similar to the New Year that the world celebrates on 1 Jan.
The Lunar New Year is dependent on the Chinese calendar and ususally happens either in Jan or Feb. The Lunar New Year sees the renewal of ties among kin, the celebration of life, sharing of food, and the giving of red packet that contains money to the children.
The Bangladeshi builders who put up most of the buildings are amazing , most don't live anywhere at all . You see them sleeping on rough mats outside the MRT stations and first thing in the morning they get up and wander off to work with their little plastic bags of curry sauce.
Where else but the Sunset Bay in Sentosa where you can have all the beach activities and roller blading? It is a place where you can have great gathering with friends to drink, play and enjoy the day till sunset.
Or after the afternoon beach activities, you can proceed to the Musical Fountain to enjoy the the performance which is also well-known and a must do in Sentosa.
A relaxing way to spend a relaxing day.
