Re: Singapore Rocks

Hi there...

Since the House of Rock closed, I am a bit lost now, but mainly as it has been a while. Here are some choices. There are good clubs in Clark Quay and on Orchard Road. I do undersend that Sentosa is really coming on strong as well.....

The last time when I was in Singapore, we went to the Hardrock Cafe. Its a nice place somewhere in Orchard.

Another nice place you can try is Saint James Powerhouse near Vivocity. This place is nice and its near sentosa. You can always spend some time in the morning in the island and go klisten to music at night.

Travel Tips for Singapore

Getting to Sentosa

by Apang

Entry Points are located at:
1. Sentosa Station (VivoCity, level 3) Using Sentosa Express
2. Visitor Arrival Centre
3. Drive-in Booths
4. Walk-in Booths currently closed until Integrated resort is ready

If you are already in Sentosa, take a Sentosa Tram or the island bus to Siloso Beach station. check out the website: http://www.sentosa.com.sg/useful_info/getting_around.html

It’s a Fine City

by Rinjani

After admiring high rise buildings and a very tidy city, later I feel this very tidy city communicate with signboards. Effortlessly, I found many “No” sign everywhere.
I like those signs. It’s just cool. I think I am not the only person who see the “No” sign everywhere. I bumped to a shirt in the market with many “No” signs all over the shirt. Welcome to Singapore My Fellow Travellers.

Chinese Horoscopes

by phil_uk_net

What's so interesting then? An important game of football on TV, or the lottery results maybe? No. The photo was taken at People's Park in the heart of Chinatown a few weeks before the Chinese New Year.

The Chinese are a very superstitious race and this group are reading their horoscopes for the coming year. I was delighted to read my own and learn that Rats are going to have a fantastic time in the Year of the Monkey. I will apparently be able to get almost anything my heart desires. Let's hope so.

THE LARGEST PORT IN THE WORLD

by DAO

Singapore is the busiest port in the world. It is an absolute crossroads of the world and helps to explain its prosperity. Any good views of the ocean will reveal large container ships entering and leaving Singapore. The statistics are staggering. The port handles 17% of all transhipments in the world, over 200 shipping lines operate here, over 400 ships a day are served, and it’s connected to over 600 other ports in 123 countries. Also HALF the world's crude oil sails into this port. A trully amazing place.

Dress for the Tropics

by dcrubio

Just pack for hot weather. Even when it rains, Singapore remains warm. That means, COTTON!!! Sleeveless, shorts, sandals for the women, plus maybe jeans for a night out! The men can do the same- lightweight shirt, cargo shorts/pants, sandals or sneakers... Skip the chewing gum!!!
