When the World Is not Enough

Fullerton Hotel is one the best five hotels in the Singapore, if we believe in various travel magazines. The hotel is renovated in an old post house next to Singapore River, the financial district and harbour. The location is convenient for business travellers, and the close vicinity of a metro station makes it also alluring for people on holidays.

The hotel lobby is really astounding, rising to all eight floors. We were there during Christmas time, so the lobby was filled with live music most of the time.

The rooms are contemporary, light and airy. The bed is the highest that I have ever encountered, I had literally to jump onto it. The bed itself and the linens are of top quality. The same can be said with the amenities. The room service menu is extensive and surprisingly inexpensive.

There are five restaurants in the building and there is a smallish restaurant complex just next to the hotel. Hotel has outdoor infinity pool that had a little too cold water for our taste. The room service serves also the pool.

The service is most of the time very effective and courteous, but special occasions seems to be problematic for the staff. We had to wait for the breakfast on Christmas Day and there were some hassles involved also with our table in Christmas Eve buffet dinner.

We got an outrageously cheap package from Tablet Hotels, and the hotel was really worth every penny spent.

Colonial Style, Asian Hospitality

I've stayed here twice now on business trips and i have truly grown to love staying here.

During a stay in this hotel, you will have so many memorable experiences, just by accident:- from swimming in the infinity pool overlooking the water taxi's passing along the canal underneath, to dining out on the verandah of the Town restaurant and drinking a fantatsic Vintage Port.

Best idea of preservation

I haven't stayed at this hotel, but I always like to visit it.

Originally it was a post office, but being turned to this superb hotel now. Setting just behind the Singapore's icon, the Merlion park. The hotel has a good view of both the Singapore River and the harbour side.

Feel at home in this Serviced Residence

Being a serviced residences, tourists must stay here for at least one week and thus it is only good if you plan to enjoy Singapore truly.
The serviced residences is not far from the city area and it has all the amenities of a home. Families can travel and stay here as there are units ranging from 2-3 rooms here. Definitely a good value for groups and fmilies travelling together.

Unique Quality: Excellent facilities include one large swimming pool and a kid's fun pool. Other amenities are a Child Centre with activities for kids and a playground, as well as a shuttle bus towards the Orchard Rd, Chinatown and City Hall area.
There is also a shopping mall with a food court and supermarket below.

Singapore's best luxurious Hotel

This hotel is smack in the middle of the Business District along Shenton Way.
The services of this hotel is fantastic and it has the qualities of a grand hotel as it was once the Singapore General Post Office building and its ornate colonial exteriors provides stark contrast between old and modern Singapore in the form of gleaming skyscrapers.
The interior of the hotel is one of the best I have seen, even if not staying in this hotel do drop by at its lobby.

Unique Quality: What makes the Fullertin unique is that this a heritage building in Singapore and the views from its tall windows are great, giving the best waterfront views of Singapore.

More about Fullerton Singapore

a top-notch hotel

by SurfaceTravel about The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

I stayed here one week for business. I can't compare it to the famous Raffles, but this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have stayed at quite a few of those listed in Leading Hotels of the World.

The lobby is huge and very impressive, the staff are amazing, the service excellent, and it has a very central location for business. I was working in the Maybank Tower just across the street and an MRT station is minutes away by foot. The rooms are large, superbly furnished, and the bathrooms are large and luxurious. Their beds are amazing! After sleeping there for a week, I just about broke my back on our average bed the first night back home. I came to a decision then and there. I e-mailed the hotel's building manager and asked him what brand name and type of beds they have. He told me and I went out and bought one that very day. This is one of the smartest things I have done in my life! It cost about US $1500, but it was the best money I ever spent. (I'm very sorry, I've forgotten the brand name, as it was two countries and four houses ago.)

Merlion Park is just across the road from the hotel. You can get there from inside the hotel via escalators and a travellator going underneath.

A great Hotel

The merlion

by canadacutey

What i am wondering is: Where is the largest merlion statue, from my readings i see there is merlion at one fullerton hotel, and another on sentosa island? Now which one is the huge statue? Thanks

Re: The merlion

by cheapskate

The largest would be in Sentosa.. for a few dollars u can go right to the top of the Merlion and look out to a presumably good view...

However, the ORIGINAL merlion would be the one at fullerton.. that place has like one of the best views in Singapore! :)
