Hanging out for 5 nights @ mt.Emily
After checking most of Singapore hostels I decided to stay at email@example.com for the reason that I was looking for a private room with bathroom! The reviews wasn't bad and it was available in the time of the F1 so I thought of giving' it a shot
For a hostel it wasn't cheap the private room cost me S$94 per night! so from its look you can say its more like a budget hotel than a hostel
It located in upper class residential area, between little India and Orchard road,
It's very safe and extremely quite but in a depressing way not in a good way!
You need to take the stairs to get to the hill which is kind of exhausting if you're carrying lots of shopping bags :( after taking the stairs and walk for 5 min you can find a mall called peace center and a bus stop
The room was spotless yet small with basic only no TV, mini bar or bath tub just a bed and a shower, the room was very colorful I really liked the deco, there was free wireless INTERNET which was a plus! There was no window and the air-condition was on all day long even if it's cold at night I can't help it turn it off as its central so it was freezing and I couldn't do anything about it
The stuff was great esp. the receptionist Danni she was very friendly and helpful!
The breakfast was free but I didn't try it as I used to wake up very late! The common area in the 2nd floor wasn't bad I got to meet other travelers, there was a TV but no one was watching most of the people go there just to use the computers! I also didn't checked the roof but I heard good thing about it
Well, my stay was good with no complain except for the air condition but am not sure if I want to stay there again I'd rather looking for one down town with better location
Unique Quality: Clean, safe,staff
Hangout Hotel @ Mount Emily
Very clean, Cozy, Comfortable and Stylish rooms. The common room have a pool table, free internet access, a small kitchen area, a plasma tv and a nice seating area. Enough said...
Hip Hostel In The City
This is a hip and rather new no frills hostel. In many other countries, this would even pass off as a hotel of sorts. If you're on a shoestring budget and just seek to have a clean and comfortable place to sleep, this is a place I would recommend. I've been there, into one of the rooms even as a friend of mine put up at this hostel when it first opened and I must say, for its price, I was impressed. It has your basic amenities - i.e. brightly coloured rooms, a cafe/restaurant, a bar and a common room with a TV and boardgames. And it's located just a 15 mins' walk away from Orchard Road. They offer rooms with toilets and male and female dorms. Rates go as low as USD18. Extremely cheap in my opinion as it's in town.
Directions: It's a 10 mins walk both from Little India MRT (subway) station and Somerset MRT (subway station).
