Singapore
by nimato about Holiday Inn Park View
I had a pleasant 3 days and 2 nights stay at the stylish Holiday Inn Park View Singapore. The hotel is centrally located along Orchard Road, just beside the Centerpoint (Robinsons) and the food street that becomes alive at night. The rooms are luxurious and elegant and the rooftop swimming pool is stunning.
Holiday Inn Park View outstanding in every way

My regional office in S'pore is across Orchard road from Holiday Inn so I stay there frequently. I have stayed at most other major hotels in Singapore, including Hilton and Pan Pacific, and while all are lovely and relatively good bargains compared to similar hotels in other Asia Pacific cities, the Holiday Inn is my primary choice for a number of reasons. The amenities are wonderful, the staff friendly and courteous, the location is completely amenable to both business travellers and accompanying families as well as families coming solely on vacation. The rooftop pool is very nice and seldom has more than 1 or 2 other people.
The price is typically less than I have seen posted on this website, so I encourage you to call or check online. I typically reserve through corporate agent.
Nothing Special but Nothing Wrong with the Holiday Inn Park View

Stayed at the Hotel for 3 days at the end of a family trip to Phuket. We were happy that the hotel allowed our family of four to stay in the one room (2 adults and 2 young children) as it saved us some money.
The Hotel is in a good location if you want to do the shopping thing along Orchard Road. It is a bit of a hike to the other tourist areas that we visited in SIngapore but the taxis are so cheap that it didn't really matter. There are also some nice food court type eateries just next to the Hotel as well.
Hotel room was fine. Nothing special. Felt a bit like a typical inner city business-type hotel room. The staff at the hotel were pleasant enough but after arriving there from a luxury resort in Phuket you can certainly notice a difference as the added touches were just not evident.
Overall a nice (just) above average hotel but nothing special.
Great Location
by ickee about Holiday Inn @ Orchard Road, Parkview
Located right behind the main action of Orchard Road is the Holiday Inn Parkview along Cavenagh. It's a typical Holiday Inn Franchise of 3-4 star appeal and is perhaps best for the business traveller. The location is great because it's right in the middle, about 5 minutes walk to Plaza Singapura/MRT Station from the side of Meridien and another 5 minutes walk to Centrepoint cutting from the back. Beside the hotel are neighbouring food malls for the budget travellers and not too far away is also an open food court which has a variety of Chinese and Malay food. Straight ahead, along that same strip is the club ROUGE, which spins a slice of the Sing nightlife. Getting around from here is really easy, and because it's behind and not right on Orchard Road, getting a cab from the hotel Taxi Stand is a breeze.
The hotel stay comes with breakfast buffet which hasn't changed much since i first stayed there 2 years ago. Not really a bad thing if you're into the charm of familiar cooking. It lends a semblance of home, actually. Another plus factor is the cheerful chef assigned to fry your eggs. The one named "Stephen" goes out of his way to personally get to know the hotel guests.
Internet Access is easily accessible. You can have it in your room or on the Business Center on the 4th Floor (at least i think it was 4th floor...)
In general, I've never had any problems with the Holiday Inn. The staff is friendly, the location is great. However, if you're in for a creme de la creme, grand vacation capped with elegant accomodations, this is not the place for you. If you want a classy and functional business hotel in the heart of orchard, this is where you should book. Each floor has a quadrangle. The pool is on the rooftop by the jacuzzi and the steamrooms. Nice pool, nice sauna. You need your key to get everywhere though as each elevator stop has an opening for your room key to ensure only hotel guests can make use of the amenities.
Prime location

Locates very close to the Orchard road, just a few meters away. The service is good just as any other major hotel chain: fast and professional. It only took less than 5 mins for me to get a the key ( a little bit inconvenience as they are still using the hard key instead of the swipe card key). Breakfast is a little expensive, but you can walk to the Cuppage plaza next to it to get a decent breakfast for much less.
Direction : To get there, take the metro (red line) and get off at the Someset station. Head to orchard road and turn right. Keep walking and look to your left. As soon as you see the sign Cuppage road ( a very small road), cross the street to your left. Walk past the cuppage plaza, cross the Krama road, you will then enter the hotel in the back door instead of entering the front door on the Cavenagh road which will take you several minutes more outside the heat. Cleanliness, full amenities.
Good 4 star hotel

Just got back from Singapore and stayed at the Holiday Inn Parkview for 7 nights. Hotel was clean and well maintained. The rooms were of good quality, I could smell paint at times so wonder if the rooms were being spruced up a bit. My husband stayed at the Fullerton on business last feb and found the room at the Parkview to be no less in presentation than the room at the Fullerton. The pool is very pleasant, nice chairs and loungers to sit on, plenty of shade and a good kids pool for toddlers. I was going to try the spa but found it didnt look as well maintained as the pool, needed a good scrub!!!. Breakfast was included in our booking and was good, not as excellent as some 5 star hotels but for the price couldnt complain. The location of the hotel was good, 5 minute walk from the MRT, which we did use when not catching taxis. There are plenty of eating options near the hotel so ate close by as our feet were killing us by the end of the day. The only complaint I have is despite requesting rooms next to each other through our travel agent and emailing the hotel prior to our arrival reiterating our need for room next to each other we were given rooms on the same floor but not close by. We were traveling with my elderly parents and had advised the hotel it would be easier if we were next to them. Overall I felt the hotel is excellent for the price but the next time I travel to Singapore I will probably choose a hotel closer to the Scotts road/ Orchard rd area as this area is closer to the shopping I prefer.

Is there any metro station near this hotel?
Re: Park View Hotel
by teddibare
Onn,
Yes, the Bugis MRT station is close by. 5 mins walk away from the Hotel.
It's been raining for a while in Singapore, you might want to get a handy umbrella.
