Hotel 81 Chinatown Singapore: Noisy Hotel 81    Check Rates

    • In the perfect location to stay in Singapore, but so noisy to be able to sleep there. The noise of the traffic is imposible. Rooms are really smalls and bathroom with shower.
    Its a new hotel, not so cheap if you think that there you are sleeping nearly like in the street because of the noise. I will not recomend it. I do recomend the location, search another hotel in chinatown.

    If you are looking for a budget and conveniently located hotel, then head down to Chinatown MRT (NEL) station and you will be able to see Hotel 81 Chinatown.

    Food is abundant in Chinatown. Try Hong Lim Market, Smith Street and Chinatown Market.

    Most of the other branches of Hotel 81 are located in the "red light" district.

    • Hotel 81 is a local chain with 15-16 hotels island wide. Hotel 81 are notorious for being popular as "love hotels" - you can book a room for 2 hours only also. But Some of these hotels are really nice. Affordable, good amenities, good locations, and courteous staff. But expect couples coming and going all the time.
    Hotel 81 in China town has a back door also ;).

    The only attraction to these hotels is that they are cheap and clean. They dont have any facilities and room are dark and dreary and too small.

    Here's the thing! If you want honest opinion, well, this chain of hotel made its name being a top sleazy hotel for one-night stands, "transit passengers" (we all know what u do in transit! come on! ) in the red-light district area. More on that in my off-the-beaten-path page.

    Then a few years ago, they went through a transformation! They did all these ads highlighting their great value & service. And you really do get that for $69 per night, you get cable TV, hot shower, comfy beds and air-con. Some even cum (ooops, Freudian slip!) with VCD players for travellers who want some er...entertainment?

    Oh for those 'transit' passengers, the rate is $20 for 2 hours...yeah! I know you probably need 10 min but use the extra time to freshen up. Get my drift? But not all the hotels offer that..only in some areas... :)

    HOTEL 81 BENCOOLEN - GOOD LOCATION. CAFES NEARBY. 24 HR FOOD SHOPS. 5 MIN TO MUSEUM, 3 MIN TO ART MUSEUM. 10 min to Orchard Raod - shoppping belt.

    HOTEL 81 CHINATOWN - HECK! IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF CHINATOWN! NEAR TOWN AREA - ORCHARD ROAD. JUST 2 TRAIN STOPS AWAY FROM CHINATOWN STATION TO DHOBY GHAUT STATION.

  • Directions: FROM THE AIRPORT TAKE THE TRAIN HEADING WEST. CHANGE TRAINS AT OUTRAM PARK GOING TO THE NORTH EAST LINE (TOWARDS PUNGGOL). IT'S JUST ONE STOP AWAY. ALIGHT AT CHIANTOWN STATION. EXIT AT CHINATOWN POINT. CROSS THE ROAD AND THERE YOU ARE!

    • Well this place was beyond expectations. It was reasonably cheap and the rooms were really comfortable. Its S$109 for a night and they provide complimentary bottled water and noodles in the cup.

    Don't mix it up with the other Hotel 81 at Geylang (which is not advisable)

    Its location is right in Chinatown
    Across the road is the Chinatown MRT and a shopping complex.

    A bunch of place to visit around the area. The Maxwell Road Hawker Centre and the China Square Food Court, to name a few.

    To get to Orchard road, its thru the MRT at Chinatown, switch trains at Dhoby Gaut, and off to Orchard MRT station. All in 10 mins (+/- the wait for the train)

  • Directions: Especially since it is close to the stop of the Aeroline from Kuala Lumpur (Grand Copthorne Water Front Hotel). It cost S$3.50 to get to the Hotel 81 from the Grand Copthorne Water Front Hotel.
