We arrived in the "wee" hours a bit jet lagged and were quickly given a room where we could relax and recover.There was a bath in the room which is a delight when traveling. Hard to get clothes to dry though. I am a fanatic about keeping washing done.
Yes we would stay again. Hope the renovations are complete when we go to Singapore again (March 2009). It was not there. It may not ever be there again. Stay tuned.
In 2009 we stayed at Royal PLaza on Scott ...very close to Orchard Road.
Really enjoyed the meals and remember a fantastic breakfast where we were able to sample some of the special "Singapore" dishes. Very close to shops.

Rooms are big enough. The furnitures are fine. The computer with internet connection is just helpful. The staff are very nice and polite.
Buffet breakfast is satisfactory. I would have recommended that they add more selections to their menu but hey, for a 4-star hotel, i'd say they can pass. ^_^

The hotel was a nice hotel less expensive than the luxury hotels but at the higher end of moderate. It was located above the Specialists' Shopping Centre. Unfortunately, the shopping centre and hotel were torn down in late 2007. The shopping centre was one of the oldest in Singapore and was situated next to a parking lot. The new building will use all both spaces. In 2008, there was construction. The Somerset MRT remains open. I did not actually stay there - but know that it is write in the middle of Orchard Road and friends have said that it is a good hotel

Take the Executive room , it comes with a massage chair :p
it's located at Specialist shopping area. bargain price n the service is gd. The breakfast is also gd.
