Beside Shopping district Bugis!

Stayed in a suite. Room is quite big; having a couch, working table and a dining table; and chairs accompanying these. Hotel is not as modern because it has been here of sometime and yet you still feel the 'classiness' of the place as furniture , table lamps and others are not cheap ones.
Room is very cozy. Swimming pool is very relaxing.
Walk down and you are in bugis junction.

Unique Quality: Great pool views, Clark Hatch gym; from my experience bigger than typical hotel gyms, sauna, lot of breakfast choices

GREAT RATES-check the Intercontinental

We stayed at the IC Singapore in March 06 . On the IC homepage was a very good offer for a Club level room , so based on positive reviews of other VT members we booked.
The room was very comfortable, the Club Lounge perfect. Besides some nice Hors
d óeuvres you are treated with Piper Heidsieck Champagne, wine beer etc during the afternoon cocktail. Breakfast in the morning at Club Level was very pleasant with a wide variety of fruit, cereal etc. Service was absolutely perfect , the hotel staff friendly and helpful.

Unique Quality: Good location : Near Bugis Metro, near City Buzz Stop ,next to Bugis Shopping center

Great Hotel, Great Location

Service is good, with the staff attentive to your needs and quickly responds to requests. The amenities are superb.

Unique Quality: This hotel is conveniently located very near the Bugis MRT station, Parco (Bugis junction), Seiyu. Within the vicinity is Bugis Village and Little India. If one gets tired of walking, the sights are pretty much accessible by means of the MRT.

Luxury, with a Peranakan Heart of Gold-Part II

Bathroom had a shower stall and a bath-tub, and it was sparkling clean and new too.
It also came with a weighing scale which told me that I had put on 2 kg after only 4 days! URGHH! :-)(
(perhaps it was the excellent breakfast...)

In an excellent location, with its own shopping mall, the Parco Bugis Junction.

24 hour fitness centre-Clark Hatch
One shared indoor jacuzzi-with different times for men and women to use it.
Nice pool, small child's pool and an outdoor jacuzzi

Special/outstanding qualities:The service was simply excellent. "One-stop" service centre attends to all your needs and they were really fast when I asked for a few extra items, the wait staff at the restaurants seem to anticipate all your needs!

Unique Quality: Lovely little touches: at the poolside, the staff will bring you a cold towel or some pieces of cold fruit, complimentary!

Price below is stated on a twin share, per person rate (we purchased it off the internet, and used the prepaid option)

Luxury, with a Peranakan Heart of Gold-Part I

We were assigned a room on the thirteenth floor (13 is lucky number for Asians!), and it looked and felt brand new, all 32 sq meters of it! The room was beautiful and tastefully decorated, and had a quiet elegance.
The king-sized bed was remarkably comfortable, with 4 lovely over-sized pillows, 3 other pillows, and a heavenly white comforter. The adjustable air-con was set at a comfortable 22 degrees, and had another gauge to show the actual room temperature.

This hotel has been set up for the business traveller, and it came with web access thru the TV or high-speed internet cables where you just plug your notebook in and you're on your way! Three chairs, a mini-bar, well stocked coffee and tea making facilities, in-room iron and ironing board, in-room safe, bathrobes, bedroom slippers, ample closet space, and very ample lighting which was still warm and elegant.

Unique Quality: Lovely lobby area (see pics), with nice restaurants.

The rate we paid was with breakfast for 2 persons and the breakfast itself was excellent. Rate stated is per person, and was on a pre-payment basis, obtained thru the internet.

More about InterContinental Singapore

Cool Climate but Value at its best

by TripAdvisor Member VfB 1893

We stayed at the InterContinental Singapore for four nights and we summarize it as "best value for money in Singapore for a 4,5star accomodation".
This hotel is clearly targeting business travellers. We stayed at Club level, and were a bit of outsiders having all business people around us, but once you understand that thsi hotel is right oabove the MRT and Bugis shopping mall it doesn´t matter who stays at the hotel, but how central it is. A lot of things are in walking distance (Orchard Rd, Little India, Arab Street, etc.)
We got an upgrade in terms of room, due to the Ambassador status. Nice bed, nice view, especially nice toileteries! Greatest shower-pressure we experienced in Asia!
The staff is very efficient but not warm-hearted like at the IC in Bangkok or the IC Resort in Bali. Cool, clear-cut and not to many words. A little stiff, esp. at Club level.
We decided to skip the Club level next time, as the food stalls (hawkers) at bugis are so cheap and good, that food at the IC is simply outrageously expensive! Not worth the money...
Would we stay again? Yes, but a simple deluxe room does it, as Singapore has too much to see!

Phenomenal hotel - Unbeatable location

by A TripAdvisor Member

Loved the Intercon Singapore! The hotel is beautiful, service is impeccable and the location is unbeatable. We were upgraded to a beautiful deluxe room (junior suite really!) on a high floor. They have a luxurious pool area and 24 hour gym. The hotel is located at Bugis Junction with great access to the MRT line and shopping/dining areas (Raffles City Mall, Raffles Hotel, Chijmes, etc). It's also within walking distance of other charming shophouses, etc.

We can't wait to go back!

Excellent choice

by A TripAdvisor Member

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Singapore having spent the first 8 nights of our holiday in a Junior Suite at the Intercontinental. I had done a considerable amount of research prior to booking this hotel, including reading the comments posted on this site, and was not disappointed in my choice. We made the most of the facilities at the hotel - especially the gym. We just loved the Club Lounge, and could hardly wait till 5.30 each night when cocktails and hors d'oeuvres were served. We just loved ordering the champagne. We felt like kings! The buffet breakfast had everything you could want, and on Friday night the seafood buffet was excellent.
As the other reviewers have said, the hotel is brilliantly located. Everything is within easy reach, and often we would walk up to Orchard Road for more shopping!
The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bed was divine. The digital scales in the bathroom became quite addictive!
Pre-paying directly with the hotel got us a great rate - $260 - $280 Singapore dollars per night (depending on what day of the week it was) for the suite which included the Club Lounge facilities - internet, buffet breakfast which could be taken in either the club lounge or the mediterranean restaurant, coffee/tea throughtout the day, and the evening cocktails. Fantastic value for money.
We left very happy with our experience and would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Thank you ,Tripadvisor

After reading many positive reviews about the Intercontinental, we decided to book a club level room. Everything was even above our expectations: Location, friendly staff and perfect rooms. Thanks to the very charming Thai Club manager and the whole crew for a perfect experience -we will certainly come back on our next trip.

Intercontinental Hotel Singapore - How Good Is It

by Mikebb

Have found a good deal at the Intercontinental Hotel for May visit. Deal is pay in advance, must be minimum 14 days in advance, NO REFUND POLICY.

They state room size is 32 square metres, which is a good sized hotel room.

Is this hotel good quality, rooms not worn out, and good location close to metro train station, or is there a chance these special priced rooms are of lesser quality.

Address 80 Middle Road, Singapore, next to Bugis Street Shopping.

Appreciate all comments.

It is a decent hotel in town, accesible to public transport (ie.train and buses). The best part is it is located right next to a shopping mall called Bugis Junction with trendy/theme retail shops/restaurants catering mainly to youngers. There are shops and other places of interest nearby too, such as the National Library, the infamous 'Bugis Street', chinese temple etc. Enjoy your trip!

This hotel is definitely well position in the city centre. It is 5 minutes walking distance to Suntec City ( Marina Centre area ) and Cityhall Area ( Raffles City).

You are also 10 minutes bus ride away from Chinatown, Orchard, Clarke Quay and Little India.

Have fun!
