Orchard road

I stayed here a couple of years ago. Excellent location, right on Orchard road. Also, great swimming pool. If you go to Singapore for the Chingay parade, this is the place to stay.

Business Ease in Singapore

Directly in the middle of the Singapore is Orchard Road, and centrally located on Orchard Road is Le Meridien Singapore. There are definitely nicer hotels available to you if your budget allows, but this one was right within my business budget and very close to the place of business that I needed to attend. It is located directly across the street from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, within 5 minutes walk of a Starbucks, and located directly above a Hawker stall for quick consumption of all your food needs.

The bed was comfortable, and I was actually upgraded to a suite here, which was a perk of my continued stays with Starwood hotel properties.

I did not partake of any room service or meals, so I can share that with you, but I did use the housekeeping services to press two of my shirts for business. Both of those came out wonderful, and very efficient. They were done in less than an hour.

Hotel or Shopping Center!?

The BREAKFAST BUFFET every morning is great!!!! Hotel staffs are very helpful and accomodating most especially the Chinese looking girl on the front desk every morning which i didn't got the chance to know her name.

Unique Quality: Buffet breakfast is really something,the pool is ok and the lobby is really very nice.

Great Location

The hotel was at the end of Orchard Road, so about a 5 minute walk to get into the main shopping area. Check-in was quick and efficient and we were shown straight to the room that we had booked. I had upgraded the room directly with the hotel to a club room and it was very nice. We had a DVD player in the room, and the club lounge had dvd's to borrow for free. The room was spotless, not overly large, but enough for the two of us.
On the first night our aircon broke down, and though they tried there best to fix it, they ended upgrading us to a suite, which was beautiful with a great view of the pool from our balcony.
The club lounge was deserted most nights, which left the bar staff at our bec-&-call, which meant that in two hours, we managed to drink quite a bit :)
The pool was a typical Singapore pool, not very large, but there was a bar and lots of loungers with umbrellas, so it served us fine.
I would definately consider staying here again.

Unique Quality: Location was great, as were the breakfasts.
There was a hawker centre beneath the hotel, where we ate lunch nearly everyday. S$4 got you a big plate of BBQ pork and noodles and a drink.

A few additional words

The previous reviews really cover the hotel fairly well, I only have a few words to add.

The hotel, while listed as a deluxe hotel really needs some freshening. The lobby is impressive, but there is a slightly worn-down feel to it and a faint scent of 80's/90's design aesthetic.

The hotel location is great for Orchard road shopping and interaction, however will require a taxi ride for Chinatown and other locations. This makes this location a bit more inconvenient - as catching a cab back during business season is quite the nightmare.

Unique Quality: The lobby is very nice. Large open space, glass elevators, the sound of water. Quite pleasant.

The staff service is excellent. Friendly and helpful.

Le Meridien Singapore is a 4 star hotel located in the middle of Orchard Road next to somerset MRT station.

A very conveniently located hotel as Orchard Road is right at your door steps where the famous shopping and entertainment belt are.

The guest rooms are generous in size and offer great buffets.
