Really Grate and Luxury hotel
Fantastic pool! I Really Enjoyed lounging around the pool and ordered some drinks. Many tourists tend to just lounge around the pool too, especially with the hot and humid weather! Wonderful location. The hotel is connected to the Raffles Shopping Center and the metro station! Of course, it's a good 10 minute walk through the Raffles' center

One of the best... they say

The hotel has a great ambiance and atmosphere.
The rooms are good and the facilities reflect the 5 Star grade the hotel prides itself in.
the view from the room was also excellent.
However, I was disappointed with the service from the staff. There were not as pleasant or courteous as what I would have expected.

Unique Quality: The atrium inside the hotel. You could actually hear birds chirping.

Great Location, Fabulous Breakfasts

The staff was friendly. We arrived late at night, past midnight but the porter helped us right away and delivered our baggage to our rooms within 2 minutes of us going in.

Good decoration in the room. Nice King size bed that's very comfy!!

We took a vacation package (no tours) so it included the hotel breakfast. It was wonderful, included both Asian and American dishes such as "Cow Hoon" = stir fried noodles (Hokkien style), "Jook" = warm rice porridge (Cantonese style), BBQ pork bows, eggs, sausages, waffles, Mmmmm yummy.

Unique Quality: Fantastic pool! We spent one afternoon just lounging around the pool and ordered some tropical drinks. Many tourists tend to just lounge around the pool too, especially with the hot and humid weather!

Wonderful location. It's about 30 minutes away from the Changi airport but the hotel is connected to the Raffles Shopping Center and the metro station! Of course, its a good 10 minute walk through the Raffles' center.

Wake up to Bird Song

Spacious, well appointed rooms & bathrooms. A comfortable king-size bed.

This is a rather old hotel, but it has been well maintained on the inside and outside. At the centre of the hotel, there is a high ceiling and glass skylight that lets the sunlight in. The natural light creates a warm glow throughout the lobby area and along the passageways leading to your room.

The fitness centre is well equiped and well maintained, and the indoor jacuzzi tub is in good working order. If you get a chance, do visit the fitness centre.

The outdoor pool is rectangular and quite nice. From the pool, you have a view of the surrounding Marina Mandarin area, all the way to Raffles City and Suntec City.

The lobby lounge is a popular meeting place for the locals and visiting businessmen. A favourite here is ice-cream served in a long glass, with a drink of cafe latte, or a colourful cocktail.

Unique Quality: On Sundays, awaken to bird song! Yes, imagine the thrill, you wake up on a Sunday morning and you may imagine that you have been transported to a rainforest... What's going on, you ask yourself. Open your room door, take a look at the corridor and you will spot the bird cages that have been cleverly hung up on every corner. The songbirds call and sing to one another creating a pleasant and delightful wake-up call.

Location: Next door to Marina shopping mall (Metro, NTUC supermarket) and within walking distance (thru the underground walkway which is a shopping haven by itself!) to Raffles City (Sogo) and the Chjimes nightspots. You can also take an MRT or taxi to Orchard Road (Below S$10) from here.

Tips for Supermums: If you get the chance, walk through the underground walkway to Raffles City and take a look at the ladies accessories & casual wear that are on sale here. You could also pick up some delicious bread at Bread Talk for the kids.

More about Marina Mandarin at Marina Bay Singapore

Marina Mandarin Hotel (Part 2)

by victorwkf

Here are some photos of the suite at the 15th floor of Marina Mandarin, where my wife and I spent the night after our wedding dinner at the hotel in May 2007. The suite is made up of 2 rooms connected together, with a huge bed, two TVs, sofa, two bathrooms, dinning table etc etc. I think the room will cost at least S$600 per night as a normal room in this hotel will cost more than S$200 per night. Overall, my wife and I had a great time at this hotel.

Marina Mandarin Hotel (Part 3)

by victorwkf

In March 2008, my wife and I went to stay 1 night at the Marina Mandarin Hotel in Singapore as part of our wedding dinner package about 1 year ago. The hotel gave us a standard room with good views of the Singapore city skyline and the swimming pool of the hotel. We enjoyed the comfortable room, especially the big plasma TV, nice bathroom, comfortable bead etc. The buffet breakfast was great, and it included expensive dishes like smoked salmon. There are lots of shopping centres e.g. Marina Square, Suntec Shopping Centre, City Hall shopping area etc. Overall we had a great time stay at this hotel.

The Five Hotels of Marina Bay

by ZENDER about No Less Than Five Stars for the Hotels of The Bay

I had stayed in all of the five hotels that are located in this Bay area except for the Ritz-Carlton Millenia-Singapore - all of them - from the Marina Mandarin Hotel, to the Conrad Centennial Hotel, the Oriental Hotel, and the Pan-Pacific Hotel - all these four hotels gives me and my guests wonderful and individual experiences depending on the times we stayed in. Oh, architecturally speaking, three of the hotels are part of the integrated hotel-shopping complex of Marina Shopping Centre - and the trio are the Marina Mandarin Hotel, the Oriental Hotel Singapore and the Pan-Pacific Hotel Singapore.
An interesting feature of these John Portman-designed hotels is their lobby atrium which give you a sense of space and perspective from whichever floor you are in.

Newly Renovated Hotel in Year 2005

by ECYM about Marina Mandarin

My gal-friend received a complimentary deluxe night stay from the meritus group. So she opt for a free night's stay at Marina Mandarin since the hotel undergone a major renovation in the Year 2005. We joined her for the stay and our room is on the 11th floor, the room is one of the few rooms that have views on the Esplanade - Theatres By the Bay. Overall, feel that the room, even with a queen size bed, is pretty small and compact. The bathroom compensates its small bedroom for a huge bathroom. I believe the bathroom is easily 1/3 as big as the room itself... The bathroom has a bathtub at one corner and another corner for its shower stand.

Personally, having stayed two other hotels in the same vicinity, I prefer a bigger and more spacious room instead of a bigger bathroom. Huge bathroom

Hotel and things to do in Singapore

by jfriedag

Hi everyone!
I will be in town in mid September and was looking at hotels. I looked at the Marina Mandarin as it has balconies and seems to be a decent hotel. Am I right?

What would you suggest to do in 2 days?

Re: Hotel and things to do in Singapore

by bkoon

Yes, Marina Mandarin is a good hotel. However, I heard there will be some renovation works sometime soon. Don't know whether it will coincide with your trip. The Lounge there is popular.

2 days, you can cover lots of places. Visit Sentosa, Night Safari, Jurong Bird Park, Chinatown, Little India, Orchid Gardens, etc.

Marina Mandarin, I have stayed there 2 years ago, and all rooms have its own balcony that you can get out and have a look. However it depends on which side that your balcony is facing, otherwise like us will be facing the road.

The room is considered to be very spacious, with a very spacious washroom. Nice hotel!
