Time Restaurants Open
by Prettyfuljan
Hi! My family and I are going next week to Singapore and will be booked at a hotel in Little India area. I just want to ask what time do restaurants usually open for breakfast since our hotel does not have a restaurant. Thank you very much!

From 0730 am, also some do late breakfasts, so don't worry.
If you like Indian food, there are some superb restaurants around Little India for bargain prices!! Couldn't believe one could have quality for so little cost!

Hi! It's easy to get food in Singapore at all hours of the day (or night!). In the little india area you will find shops open pretty early for indian breakfast, or try the hawker centre at Tekka Centre (corner of Serangoon Rd & bukit Timah/Sungei Road; next to Little India MRT) for Asian food.
Enjoy your travels!

In Singapore, don't have to worry about food. There are plenty of coffee shops, food courts, stalls and some open very early in the morning to catch the working crowd before they head for work.
In Little India, there are plenty of food outlet offering many variety of food.
Travel Tips for Singapore
Water from any Tap in Singapore is Safe to Drink
by Amar_kirale
Water from any Tap in Singapore is Safe to Drink. Government takes the responsiblility and ownership of providing safe drinking water to it's citizens. So much so, that it takes guarantee of every drop. They are so confident that they are planning to ban bottled water in Singapore inorder to avoid pollution beacuse of the plastic.
Hats Off to the dedication and quality control measures taken forth by Singapore Government.
Visit it all !
by ChuckG
Singapore is a little bit of everything on a very small island. Rarely I have felt like visiting every area as much as during my visits to Singapore. The old part of town is nice but the Chinatown, Little India, Arab town are also a must see. The parks that are all around the island are amazing. The zoo and the bird park are also a must see. What I love the most about Singapore is having everything possible at home, at a short distance while being able to travel to the very diverses countries in 1-2 hours flight.
A little piece of Thailand
by phil_uk_net
One of the things I love about Singapore are the little pockets of ethnicity that you find around the island. With 77% of the population of Chinese descent there are obviously lots of Chinese areas and I don't just mean Chinatown, which is probably the least authentic. Little India and Arab Street are well known but there are more. Take a stroll around the upper levels of Lucky Plaza and it is like being in the Philippines (without the shotguns). Cuppage Plaza is like a small piece of Japan and the Golden Mile Complex is like being in Thailand. The shops inside sell Thai produce and the smells and sounds are definitely reminiscent of being in Thailand. Along the outside of Golden Mile are a string of travel agents and it is a good place to make travel arrangements from Singapore, especially up into Malaysia.
Friendly people are common in Singapore
by Skylink
That's why I call Singapore the happiest place on earth. Disneyland may be happier, but it's make believe. The friendly people of Singapore, who are not only friendly, but willing to help, is what people should remember Singapore for, not jokes about gum, caning, etc.
Pack plenty of shorts and cotton shirts
by xtephen
As you can imagine, being near the equator, Singapore is very hot and humid. You will be walking quite a bit, so dress for the heat. I packed some slacks & Jeans and never wore them. It was much too warm. Cotton shirts are good because they breathe. I would also recommend taking handkerchiefs along, you will sweat nonstop & will need to wipe your forehead.
