old gorgeous hotel named after sir raffles
Unique Quality: open since 1887 as a beach house [taken from the name of its street "beach street"] and crowned as a heritage place of singapore in 1987. even never been stay there, i was glad since already tried their famous singapore sling and witnessing its old building. walking along the arcade :)

For the "sling"" alone
Well, ok , I must own up to not having stayed here, as I had friends in Singapore at the time of my visit. I did however organise a mini pilgrimage to Raffles ( a hotel frequented by my parents even before my birth) in order to order the most famous drink of the house - a Singapore Sling. This, actually did not end up being the main excitement. The hotel is beautiful, and the jazz musicians performing that night complimented the airy, and light atmosphere. What I thought was the most personable element of this bar, were the peanut shells littered all over the floor, I had never seen such littering in any grand hotel as this. The casual way it was perpetuated made me smile and sip my sling and really this was what has stuck in my head to this day.

A National Monument of Singapore
This is the lobby of the hotel at the main entrance. On the opposite side there is of course a large courtyard containing shops, restaurants, pubs and a patio outdoor bar.

The most famous hotel in Singapore and one of the most famous in the world. It was declared a National Monument in 1987 and refurbished in 1991. Everything is painted in brilliant white and there is a colonial feel that permeates from former times.
It is out of my budget but I have eaten there and been for a Singapore Gin Sling.
I am pleased to report that I was banned from entering the lobby as I was inappropriately attired in shorts and sandals. I am glad to see that they are maintaining standards!

Singapore most luxurious hotel
Best kept secret in Singapore. It is the famous hotel in the Lion City and most expensive. Services considered one of the best hotel worldwide. Everything is superb and grand.
Unique Quality: Architecture of the hotel is actually Stamford Raffles place during the British Rule. Every corner from furnitures to dining area, from bedroom to bathroom has english influences. It feels like staying in one of the expensive hotel in London.
With the money you'll able to pay, you'll get a definite 5 star service.

I will be travelling with a 2yr old child. I want to go try the famous Singapore Sling at Raffles Hotel - long bar. Are children allowed inside? or looks like will have to give this a miss 8(

well ... we werent prepared to pay that much for a drink .. so looked around anyway .. then guess what? Singapore airlines were offering them on the plane on the way back to Australia... so we got one...for free.....
