Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort
Prices start at 200 Singapore dollars. Paradise - your own private resort island! Unforgettable design. Perfectly sculpted beaches with manmade lagoons. Lots of interesting vessels moored offshore.

The main island and nightlife is a stone's throw away. Ride the monorail to your heart's content. The pool is so cool, with poolside bar.

Away From The Hustle & Bustle

by 2Cities1Love about Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort

We looked at many hotels before deciding on the Rasa Sentosa. Initially we were going to spend 4 days in the city and 3 days on Sentosa. However, the hotel gave us a great package for staying the week with them. A free upgrade to a Premier Terrace room. And what an upgrade it was. A massive balcony with resort views, Sentosa views and sea views. Magnificent!!.

The Rasa Sentosa has excllent facilities and caters well for couples and families. The pool area is huge with a separate kids pool. Also, a kids play area.

Hotel staff were very friendly and most helpful. They even left a birthday cake in our room for Sue on our last day. Our package included a full buffet breakfast each and every morning which was excellent...we never needed lunch.

We highly recommend the Rasa Sentosa for a realaxing resort style holiday with all of Singapore's attractions within easy reach. The best thing about the Rasa Sentosa is that it's on Sentosa Island away from the hustle & bustle but within very easy reach.

Beach Resort

by traps about Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort

It is located in Sentosa and provides you with the easy access to the various attractions available in the island.
The best place to relax and rejuvenate under the sun. The seaview rooms give you the best view of the South China Sea and you will be able to witness the breathtaking sunset! Splendid!
The resort hotel have a free-form swimming pool plus 2 jacuzzis. How's that for a treat?
And the Pool Bar Service is great...nice and energetic staff!

Singapore's Only Beachfront Hotel

by Donna_in_India about Shangri-La’s Rasa Sentosa Resort

First class hotel on the beach at Sentosa Island. A little far away if you are going back into Singapore but perfect for a couple of night's stay. Seaview room with balcony was clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast buffets. Within walking distance of Siloso Fort, Underwater World, and bustop (free for Sentosa Island travel).

The Rasa Sentosa Hotel on...

by vickystowe

The Rasa Sentosa Hotel on Sentosa Island. Part of the Shangri-La Hotel Group
We stayed as part of a package on an asian trip so I can't give prices. I do recall that breakfast was about GBP£16.50 and that dinner was beyond our reach! We went down to the Food Village at night to eat, which was cheap and cheeful, about GBP£4.00 for a big plate of noodles and a Tiger Beer. Being 5 Star, the facilities are fabulous with wonderful ocean views to most rooms, a wonderful pool area and direct access to the beach. A short wander up the beach takes you to the most southerly point of the asian continent. Travel round the island on the free monorail which gives access to many free attactions on the island, including musical fountains and scented gardens. The fountains turn into a fabulous laser show at night. There is a food village where you can sample the many cuisines of Singapore for just a few Singapore Dollars.

The only choice if you want to...

by mnybondas

The only choice if you want to stay in style in Singapore is of course the Raffles hotel. It is one of the great 19th century hotels in the world. The tradition and the heritage mean everything.

The Westin Stamford hotel is located opposite to the Raffles hotel. It was the tallest hotel in the hotel when it was built. Nowadays it is still the 3rd tallest hotel in the world. It is a popular business hotel. The recreation is one of the best of any hotel in Singapore.

For travellers who prefer staying on the beach there is the Rasa Sentosa resort. Another alternative for beach lovers would be to stay in the nearby Indonesian islands Batam or Bintan. A ferry ride to Singapore from Batam or Bintan to Singapore takes less than 45 minutes.

A resort hotel

by Chris_Bore about Rasa Ssentosa Resort Hotel

We stayed at the Rasa Sentosa resort Hotel. This is on Sentosa Island, which is linked by bridge and cable car to the main island. Because taxis are cheap, it was not too difficult getting into the city for work each day and it was very nice coming back to a resort hotel each evening - well worth the extra driving time. Sentosa Island is a sort of relaxing theme park but mostly very natural looking with lots of greenery (rain forest) and beaches. The hotel has a good gym and very nice swimming pool. We paid a little extra for a top floor room which was worth it for the views across the sea. The buffet restaurant is excellent, though not cheap - very cinvenient if you are working all day and don't want to waste too much time going out to eat.

Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort was really nice. According to their site, http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/singapore/rasasentosaresort it's been undergoing a complete renovation too. Enjoy Singapore!

Re: Best rate hotel in Sentosa Islands

by DarkRay

Do you actually mean "best rate" as in most value for your money, or "best rate" as in er... "best rated"? Both hotels in Sentosa, Beaufort's The Sentosa, and Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa are 5-stars rated. Rasa Sentosa is quite a bit cheaper, but everything about The Sentosa screams "class"... for a price of course. Its flower ritual spa treatment is to die for.

Just my 2 cents... :-)

Re: Best rate hotel in Sentosa Islands

by alex_thang

Yes, I mean best rate in value money. But everything in Sentosa seems expensive

Re: Best rate hotel in Sentosa Islands

by coanne

how about the new siloso beach resort on siloso beach? this is a 4-star property, just behind Cafe del Mar....it opened last August..not too sure if there is any promotional rates for them.

if you only need a roof over your head at night, then you can look at Treasure Resort (ex-Sijori Resort), a rather basic 2-star hotel opposite the Merlion OR Coasta Sands chalets.

24 hour check in hotels

by jillyboo45

Hi everyone
Does anyone know of 24 hour check in hotels in Singapore that don't bust the bank?
My daughters arrive at 2.50am and we will most probably have to pay for an extra night because of this.
My other question would be any suggestions for alternative accommodation for the 4 of us. Apartments don't appear to be the cheaper way unlike Europe.
We want to be close to an MRT and close to either china town or Little India. Orchard Road does nothing for me.
We have until November to decide so any help would be appreciated.
Jill

24 hour check in hotels

by kentut_besar

Vanakam, there are Hotel 81 chains all over Singapore, including 1 just round the corner from Chinatown MRT.

Here's a link you could copy & paste in your browser to check more information:

http://www.hotel81.com.sg/hotels_chinatown.shtml

For Little India, there's Penta Hotel, round the corner from Little India MRT; you can probably book on-line or get reviews from various web pages.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Re: 24 hour check in hotels

by xuessium

Hi! Jill:

I do have some budget lodging suggestions as "Hotel" tips on my VT SGP page should you care to take a look and see if they are any useful.

Apartments are usually not cheap in Singapore.

Re: 24 hour check in hotels

by 2Cities1Love

After arriving in Singapore at 3am we caught a taxi straight to The Rasa Sentosa and the staff were most friendly.

Yes we paid for an extra night but it's an awesome resort away from the hustle & bustle.

Transport on the island goes straight to the MRT station at the Harbour Centre (Less than 10mins away). And taxi fares were cheap.

We had a ball and loved the Rasa Sentosa.

Cheers

24-hour check-in hotels

by kentut_besar

Hi, Col & Sue, I agree Rasa Sentosa is awesome, but its also very expensive, & I'm not really so sure thats what Jill had in mind :)

I don't know, I could be wrong .........

Still, I think Jill's got enough info. now to make an informed decision.

Cheers.

BTW, your pages are really cool, especially the Melbourne one, which is where I'd like to retire one day, if circumstances permit.

I have many fond memories of the Elephant & Wheelbarrow pub, opposite the Parliament; its usually my 2nd home whenever I'm in Melbourne. Also very fond of the Duke of Wellington pub opposite Flinders Railway Station, had many nice drinks parties there :)
