Sha Villa (Superior)

A smaller version of Raffles

Previously known as Regalis Court, the SHA Villa is training ground for students in the hotel and hospitality indusry. Apart from the little inconveniences of inexperienced and overtly-eager staff, it's a great place if your requirements are - sleep, change / shower, breakfast, store luggage.

A lovely boutique hotel that my boyfriend and I enjoyed returning to after shopping, sightseeing, food indulgences and walkabouts. Lots of privacy as there are not many guests here and no big tourist buses either! Rooms are spacious. This used to be someone's villa! We had the standard room which was really big but without windows - so we don't know if it's raining or light or dark unless we peeped out the door. The 4th night we had the Superior room - with windows but much smaller.

Everything furnished in old world charm - beds / closets / writing bureau.

The only drawback - you can hear them when the housekeeping staff start cleaning the room next door. Then you'll know it's 10am!

Unique Quality: No pool, the view is not that great - you look out and see other private dwellings but the location is superb! Smack right in the middle of the shopping belt off Orchard Road. It's at Lloyd Road, off Killiney / Somerset. Walking distance to the subway and Orchard Road. A couple of shophouses along the way for great local food and the famous Killiney Kopitiam (coffeeshop). Quiet neightbourhood and safe to walk back even at 2am!
