Sentosa
Living in Sentosa is like living in another country, totally different from Singapore, like a fantasy island. The hotel is decent with good amenities The food is pricy so its better to eat elsewhere. What i really enjoyed was the great service. the staff were incredibly friendly.

SUNSET PARADISE~Tropical Island Getaway
OVERVIEW A truly extraordinary experience! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Rasa Sentosa Resort in August 2009 for 4 nights and had the most enjoyable and relaxing vacation ever! The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating the entire time, and we were 100% satisfied with the service.The staff there made our holiday memorable. Although only a 4 day holiday, it felt like we were there on the island for a month because everyday was spent doing so many different and wonderful activities.
I researched various hotel and resort accommodation before choosing Rasa Sentosa, and I read many reviews of the resort, the majority of which had nothing but positive things to say. My advice to anyone who does come across some of the reviews which complain about the 'floral-print on the bed covers, the small and ancient TV and outdated decor in the rooms':disregard it completely-who cares?! After all, who goes to a magnificently beautiful tropical island resort to spend their time in their room watching TV and staring at the linen anyway????
GOOD Where to begin? From the exceptionally welcoming and friendly resort staff who made every guest feel like royalty, to the beautiful views from the balcony overlooking the pool, to the luxurious and relaxing island atmosphere, to the magical ambience of the beach shore just a single step away from the resort pool area....it was all just so perfect!
NOT SO GOOD (This has nothing to do with the hotel), but I must note that the sleazy Indian men all around Siloso Beach made going swimming a little uncomfortable at times to say the least.
Unique Quality: EVERYTHING WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL! The views were incredible, the sea water as warm as a bath and the palm trees magnificent!

Still Shangri La
I was definitely expecting a better standard of hotel than what awaited. The Shangri-La is looking old and tired. The rooms could do with a makeover, the balconies desperately need repainting, most of the plants in the planters are dead, dying or non existent. We had 3 adults to a room, but when we arrived all that was supplied was a fold out bed, where I swear I could feel every single spring in my body whenever I moved as well as the rod of the fold out bed. Needless to say, not a great first night.
That said, the pool was awesome, the food was wonderful, we definitely enjoyed the day spa and the location couldn't be faulted.
There is a shuttle bus that runs from the hotel to the harbourfront every 20 minutes.
Unique Quality: Beautiful location and views, staff were friendly, monkeys in the trees and peacocks roaming the grounds, lovely pool, fantastic spa and food. Situated on Siloso Beach. There seemed to be no shortage to the amount of things to do, lots of organised activities and special theme nights at the restaurants.

Resort with a sea view
nice pool by the beach, dilicious buffet breakfast and a la cart dinner. enjoyed stay.
Unique Quality: good location and nice design. lots of facilities. not far from golf course on the island.

Beautiful Setting
This place is one of the most tropical settings I have ever stayed. The hotel is located on the beach, however not recommeded to swim. I stayed on the ground floor which my patio opened up to a jungle of beautiful plants, trees and a small stream.
Unique Quality: The place is very relaxing with one of the best buffets I have ever encountered.

Not in Good Shape Anymore
Although we love the Shangri-La Hotels, especially the one in SIngapore town and in HOng Kong, this resort on Sentoza was very disappointing in in dire need of repair and renovation. It in no way communicates the luxury of the other Shangri-La in either accommodation or service, so beware. Room was not in good condition, and the pool facilities and outdoor areas were also worn. I couldn;t wait to get back to downtown. The Rasa Sentosa Resort was not a good value for money that Shangri-La usually provides us with.
The island of Sentoza is great however for families with children, the theme parks, the aquarium, the shows, and museums are many.
Unique Quality: Located on the beach. Taxis available for sightseeing and downtown. Walking distance to aquarium.

The Only beach resort
A grand resort suitable for couples. Full of facilities and theme park.
Unique Quality: The only beach resort with facilities in Singapore. You can actually found lots of Cargo ships and cruises passby from and to Indonesia's island.

Stayed there last yr Jan. I almost forgot that I was in SG. I took the executive suite which was at the corner. So I had the hill n sea view.
The sea view is very nice. n our sea looks really blue :p
The room was 5-star no doubts n the service was equally fabulous :p
We had a romantic dinner at the Sharkey's, paying premium price but seafood but it was worth it coz the chef actually came out to ask if the food was gd. amazing.
It's located at Sentosa so Harbourfront , Mount faber n Sentosa will be main attractions. It's quite far from the city area.
Unique Quality: Great Sea View !! especially for SG !!

The only beach resort in Singapore......
I had the opportunity to facilitate a conference in this hotel. The overall quality of service was good. Food & beverage was excellent and interesting.
The resort is located right next to Siloso Beach and occupies a great spot on the western tip of Sentosa Island.
The Waterfront Lawn F&B outlet is a great place to hold outdoor parties with a great view of the setting sun.
If you need to hold a conference within 30 mins from Singapore's CBD, but at a beach location and within reach of Theme park attractions such as Underwater world & historical sites such as Fort Siloso ( both 5 mins walk from the resort), then this resort is ideal.
Unique Quality: The resort offers great views of the beach and the sea to the south of Singapore.
However, do not expect total peace and quiet.
The resort is right next to one of the world's busiest port, so if you get a sea facing view, you also get great views of big oil tankers, ocean liners, and Pulau Bukom refinery in the horizon (my photo explains it all). So if sea transportation and refineries are your thing, this is perfect....I must say that the lights from the ships are very picturesque at night.
Expect to be awakened by the loud horns of the ships, tugboats and ferries in the morning!
However, the resort overcomes these distractions by offering great food and services.

maybe its coz its a five star resort, the service was really good. and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. i strongly recomend anyone wanting to take a break from the hustle of mainland spore to come here even if its just for 1 day. get a seaview room. this pic is taken from the room i stayed in. one of the cheapest seaview rooms. and the food at sharkey's (their restaurant) is really fantastic though a bit expensive. the reastaurant is open air and situated just beside the beach. if u dont dare to swim in the funny looking seawater, the hotel's swimming pool is just as nice. has 2 open air jacuzzis as well. couples looking for a nice place to hold their wedding can consider holding it here. they have really nice wediing packages by the beach.

hi there,
there are many internal buses that runs around sentosa island.i cant recall off my head which color bus goes to the lagoon.you best bet is to check with the hotel staff.
