Get a hotel near an MRT (subway) station by xtephen
Singapore is really easy to get around, with a top-notch public transportation system. When I stayed, I made the mistake of picking a hotel far away from an MRT station and ended up having to walk quite a bit. The walking didnt bother me, but the lost time did. The closer your hotel is to an MRT station, the better. Its worth paying extra.
Once you are in Singapore, look for the North-East line (its purple on the maps). The north-east line goes thu some of the bigger tourist destinations. China Town, Little India, Clark Quay, Harbor Front (Which is where you go to reach Sentosa island)
