Strand Hotel is the ideal budget accommodation for your stopover in Singapore.
You may visit the nearby attractions such as the National Museum, National Art Museum, Esplanade which are about 10 minutes away.
The shopping centres like Orchard Road, City Hall, Bugis Junction and Marina Square are within walking distance too.
Dont miss the Singapore Sling at the Raffles Hotel which is also walking distance away on Beach Road.
Try the local dishes at Kopitiam along Bras Basah Road and S-11 Eating House at the National Library and at the food centre beside Allson Hotel.
The entertainment spots of Mohammed Sultan, Chjimes, Boat Quay and Clarke Quay are situated conveniently within a 2-km radius.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for all your replies.
Has anyone stayed at Strand hotel or Frangrance Sapphire hotel in Singapore? Any comments/suggestions regarding these 2 hotels will be much appreciated.

Hey,
I just returned from S'pore and was staying at Strand hotel. It is a very resonable priced hotel for what it has to offer. Only 75 singapore dollars for a double room.
It is located on Bencoolen street. The nearest metro station is Dhoby Ghaut only 5 min walking distance from the hotel.
The rooms are clean with simple furnishing, you have a Tv set, radio, Air - conditioning and nice bathroom. The rooms have been recently painted, also the stuff is really frendly.

I used to book overseas friends and work associates into Strand Hotel and another which is no longer a hotel. So far I've only heard pleasant comments from them. It's not a 5* hotel though but value for money.

well, strand hotel's location is much better as compared to fragrance. Fragrance is out of the town vicinity.
u may get around easily if u lodge in strand as there are various modes of public transportation ard it. (bus, mrt, taxi) it is also walking distance to city hall and orchard rd area.
like mentioned above, it is value for money as well
