VICTORIA HOTEL
by zae about VICTORIA HOTEL
SGD 60 (approx. USD 35) Room with private bath
SGD 40 (approx. USD 23) Room with shared bath
SGD 12 (approx. USD 7) Roll-away bed When it comes to accomodations, 90% of what's important is LOCATION; and the Vistoria is conveniently located in the heart of the City Center. Just a 5-minute walk in either direction to City Hall and/or Bugis Junction MRT stations, it is next door and across the street from food courts, a post office and convenience shopping. In the evenings, the Albert Street Night Market is only a few blocks away. So there's plenty to see and do without even having to leave the neighborhood.

Cheap hotels around Raffles Avenue
by jackie_9
I am going to singapore to attend a wedding around raffles avenue. Does anyone know any good hotel but very cheap in this area? My budget is around $150. Thanks in advance!

Around the immediate area, there is only 5 stars and above hotels which are out of your budget. Consider the somewhat nearby Allson Hotel (http://www.allsonhotelsingapore.com) which is about US$135.
If your budget is in SGD, then consider Victoria Hotel, or The New 7th Storey Hotel (http://www.nsshotel.com)
Just my 2 cents.... :-)

Hi
Can anyone recommend cheap but clean accommodation around Orchard Rd? Preferably, an apartment accommodation with a budget ranging from S$70-100? Or any other areas with more or less the same budget?
Thanks

I stayed in the Victoria Hotel several years ago. It was a good budget hotel and location, cheaper back then. I think it is still cheaper then the Y for a single room but a little out of your price range at SGD 128 when I just googled it. It looks like they updated it from the pictures. But hotel pictures almost always look good. :)
There use to be back packers places along Bencoolen Street which may still be in your price range. Try googling that area and looking into guide books.

The budget is unfortunately too low for the Orchard Road area. You may want to consider The InnCrowd (http://www.the-inncrowd.com), which is a backpacker accommodation near Little India MRT, but they do have private rooms (no ensuite facilities though). That makes it easy for you to get to Orchard.
Just my 2 cents.... :-)

Hi,
What kind of apartment do you mean? Is it a room in the share apartment or the whole unit?
If the first one is you are looking for, you can go to Lucky Plaza level 26, and you can find a room to rent. Last April the I paid S$75 for a room with twin bed and a view to Orchard Road (I can see Wisma Atria and Takashimaya from that room). I don't nowadays price.
Normally the guests who stay there are the relatives of the person who has been in medical treatment in Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
I hope this information help you.
cheers
