France Hotel: On the water & close by

The stay here was comfortable. Yeosu does not have big hotels, so you have to make do with what is there. In other cities, this might be a 3-star hotel, but it is arguably the best in Yeosu.

From the outside, it might be mistaken for one of the many 'love motels' in Korea, but with a fair share of Korean and foreign business guests, it is an honest-to-God hotel.

Basic room is $40USD. Premium room is $60USD.

Unique Quality: It is within walking distance of "sushi town" which has some good seafood restaurants. Also walking distance to the "new" downtown where most of the night's life is.

There is no restaurant here, but will serve 1 egg, 2 toast and juice to your room upon request.

Hyang-Il-Am: Quiet fishing village

There are several hotels and guesthouses in the small fishing village on Dolsando island 40 min outside of Yeosu. People are friendly but it does get busy as it's popular with Korean bus tours to come here later in the afternoon.

Unique Quality: Great seafood here and a relaxed atmosphere.
