One of my good memories about Suwon is being able to take some good photographs of the local people. The people here are generally more laid back as compared to Seoul, but language is a big problem.

Travel Tips for Suwon
Tightrope acrobatics
There is a long tradition of tightrope acrobatics in Korea. For centuries troupes of acrobats travelled around the countryside giving perfomances. A popular new Korean film, "Wangui Namja" or "The King's Man" has renewed interest in the art, as two tightrope acrobats are featured in this historical drama.
There are performances at the Korean Folk village daily at 11.40am and 3.40pm (3.10pm Nov-Feb)
Suwon Fortress
Suwon fortress is really a wall that surrounds most of the old city. Small forts connect the sections of wall with one fort atop a nearby hill. Not nearly as grand as the great wall of china, but it is impressive in its own right and worth seeing if around Suwon. Takes at least a couple hours to walk around the entire wall (perhaps longer as its been a year since I did it). At night many of the forts are lit up with the summit especially bright.
Filming Site of DaeJangGeum (Jewel of the Palace)
The Korean film Dae Jang Geum (Jewel of the Palace) capture many audiences in Korea as well as the rest of east Asia when it was shown of TV in 2005. One of the filming site of this film is within the cultural village of Suwon, so do drop by to have a look.
Seojangdae and Seonodae
Seojangdae is the West and East command post of Fortress. A panoramic view of the city and surrounding countryside may be enjoyed from this command post at the top of Mt, Paldal. and Seonodae is unroofed octagonal platform supporting the West multiple arrow launcher platform.
