restaurants

by tkdsimes

Hi.

Can anyone suggest any good restaurants (medium to high budget - I'll be with some foreign business associates) in the area of the Lotte hotel? I prefer not to eat in the hotel.

They need to be:

- Asian: Korean and others
- With English menus or English-speaking staff (or if not, food easily identifiable from pictures)

Cheers,

tkdsimes

OK. I'll answer myself. There are loads of great restaurants round Seomyeon, all kinds of prices, all kinds of foods. In most you can either find English-speaking staff or English menus, or easily-identifiable photos on the menus. Get out, walk around and follow your nose.

Travel Tips for Busan

Couple Clones...

by amambaw

A current trend in Korea is for couples to dress alike. I have seen varying degrees of this, from couples wearing the same shirt to couples with complete matching outfits (probably undies too!). If you are one of a twosome, and you would like to try this one out, be forewarned: you may be the object of a few stares!

KTX Train

by iwys

The best way to travel to Busan is on the high-speed KTX train from Seoul, which also stops at Daejeon and Daegu. A single ticket costs 45,000 won. There are no discounts for return tickets. But, you should reserve your seats in advance, as the trains are often full, especially on Sundays. The ultra-modern Busan Station, which looks remarkably like Seoul Station, opened in 2003. There is a special desk where foreigners can buy tickets, and avoid the long queues, to the right of the main ticket counter.

Mountains

by Martin_B

There is a lot of mountains all around Busan and it is very beautiful. Actually 70 % approx of all Korea is mountains. So one day in Busan I decided to go on one of them to see the view. I don't remember the name of the mountain. Usually you have a cable car that bring you to the top but the day I was there it was closed. So I climb (or trek) to the top. It took me maybe 1 hour 30 minutes really intense. But the view upstairs was amazing.

MT. YONGDU PARK: The panoramic view of Busan port

by ancient_traveler

Its called Yongdu Mountain because the mountain looks like a dragon’s head coming to land from the sea. Busan Tower, which represents Busan, you can see the panoramic view of the downtown and busiest Busan Port, the biggest port in Korea. You also have a chance to see the night view.

Busan - Nightlife, Seaside, Principal Port !

" Something about Busan or Pusan"

The second largest city in South Korea, Busan or formerly known as Pusan (changed due to phonetic consistency), is Korea's principal and international port whereby it provided the gateway to the Hallyeo Maritime National park and its picturesque islands. With a population of almost 4 million, Busan has first-class hotels and restaurants to match its fabulous beaches and outstanding shopping and sightseeing areas.
