    Handily located and reasonably priced

This hotel is perfectly adequate for what it is, and is well located, walking distance from the Myeongdong area, and within sight of Seoul tower.

Recommended for the location and price.

    Seoul's Best Situated Hotel

    by

For my first time in Seoul, I chose Astoria Hotel because of its price first and foremost. It turned out to be a great decision because of it's near Chungmoro station. If you're a first time traveller to Seoul, I would definitely recommend this hotel since it's near all the major tourist destinations (the palaces Gyongbokgeung, Doksugoeng, Changdokgeoung, Namsangol Hanok Village, Namsan Seoul Tower, Myeong-dong.) The Seoul City Bus Tour also stops nearby since it stops at the Namsangol Hanok Village. The internet is also free! Just bring a LAN cable with you - the hotel sells this but it's overpriced.

The negative points about this hotel are: Room service is not 24/7. No buffet breakfast available. The rooms are pretty old but they are well maintained. The airport bus (going to Gimpo or Seoul) doesn't stop here. You need to walk to Sejong Hotel in order to board one.

Unique Quality: Location! Location! Location!!! Free internet!!! Perfect for people like me who need to check emails for work from time to time.

    Directions: Exit 4, Chungmoro Station.
    The hotel has no website.

Seoul Free and Easy

"Seoul Free & Easy- Not that difficult at all!"

When I told my friends I'll be going for F&E Seoul with my husband, they usually ask me the same questions :"Do you know how to speak Korean?" "How can you find your way around??" "F&E Seoul will be difficult cos the Koreans don't speak much English"etc etc.

Well, with good preparation, I must say, Seoul F&E is not at all difficult!!! Especially if you know Chinese language, finding your way around Seoul or asking for product recommendations in most of the Korean retail shops is actually easy! Hence, I would like to hereby share with you my F&E Seoul tour and would still recommend F&E in Seoul.

Overall, my Seoul trip was only quite ok, not exactly fanstastic. This was due to serveral reasons. It was cold and so we were burdened with thick clothings. We covered only the Seoul city area and hence did not see extremely scenic locations. I didn't get to buy any clothes as all the shops sell only winter clothings (I'm from Singappore where Winter never visits). :D So, if I were to visit South Korea again (which I definitely WILL), I will visit Seoul mainly for the shopping but also plan to visit other more rural, scenic towns/provinces out of Seoul.
