In addition to the USO tour here is a link to all the agencies/websites that provide DMZ tours in Korea:

We booked out trip through the hotel and they picked us up from the lobby. We booked it the day before.
There are two different types of DMZ tours - not all the tours go right up to the border with North Korea.

As posted above, use the links, they offer nearly all the same tour but a few slight options.
Costs will all be the same roughly speaking, +/- $10.
All tours will have a pick-up downtown, either at your hotel, or at a central site, like the Lotte Hotel for example. Pick-ups are generally about 8am, with a return about 5:30pm depending on traffic.
You will have very little luck doing a self-tour by getting yourself close to the boarder, since nearly all facilities and security checkpoints are geared for the bus tours
Travel Tips for Seoul
Mt.Sorak in Kangwon Province...
by katie_park
Mt.Sorak in Kangwon Province vividly shows the seanonal changes while differing its colours all through the year. While having a short trip to Mt. Sorak with my friends, one of them, eun-jung and I are walking down the narrow path in the mountain.

KOREAN ARTS
by ancient_traveler
TRADITIONAL KOREAN MUSIC “GUGAK” shared a cultural background with China and Japan, but despite some superficial similarities. Gugak has a triple rhythm, while Chinese and Japanese music have two beat per measure. Gugak can be divided into two types: jeong-ak (for upper classes, has a slow and complicated melody) and minsogak (folk music).
TRADITIONAL DANCE like its music, also be classified into either court dances or folk dances. The slow, gracious movements of the court dances reflect the beauty of moderation and emotions formed as a result of the strong influence of Confucian philosophy. The folk danced, mirroring the life, work and religion of the common people, are exiting and romantic, spontaneous emotions of the Korean people.
TRADITIONAL PAINTING for upper class who produced much of the art were profoundly influenced by Chinese works. Folk painting, which became popular among the lower classes, expressive techniques and bright colors to depict strength, humor and leisure.
POTTERY-making techniques were transmitted from China to Korea over 1.000 years ago.
Good Copy Designer Goods
by machomikemd
South Korea produces the world's best super copy on designer goods such as Louis Vitton, Escada, Gucci, Prada, etc. China makes inferior quality counterfeit goods. Hence when in south korea, you can buy super copy designer goods virtually indistinguishable from the real thing. where to find it? go to Nam Dae Mun Market where you can see stalls than offer poor quality fakes but once you go inside and ask for "super copy" or "class 4a" designer bags, they will get the super copy good from the hiding areas (since good counterfeit goods are illegal in south korea) and show you the latest catalog of the designer goods. be ready to haggle and if you find lots of japanese tourist beside you also haggling then be sure that the copy is really "super copy".
