by NYTim

Good day,

Is there a post office or a place to buy stamps in the international airport.

Thanks in advance.

I bought stamps at the hotel we stayed at. Most hotels can accomodate you in their gift shop.

Re: Post Office

PJ noted the post office on the outside of security.
Do you need to know a place on the inside of security?

I bought some stamps inside of security before but I do not recall the name of the store. I'll be back in Incheon on Jan 31 if you can wait that long.

I can wait, thanks

Re: Post Office

Am now writing from Incheon airport... unfortunately the place that I had bought stamps from in the past no longer carries them. I've asked at the information counter too and they confirmed that no place in the airport sells stamps.

There is a post office on the outside of security, but nothing on the flight side of immigration.

Hey!!
I don't know how mush you need roughly, I've spend average 60-70 dollars in Europe a day, including accommondation fee. But you don't need to spend for accommondation while you are staying in Seoul and the price of Korea is lower than Europe!!!

Check below information!!

* The enterance fee of most palaces in seoul is 2500won to 3000won (2.5 to 3 dallars)
This web is for the most famous and biggest palace, Gyeong bok gung
-> http://gbg.cha.go.kr/
* About National museum in Seoul -> http://www.museum.go.kr/eng/index.jsp
* The best place you can see one of the best scenery of Korea, the beautiful night scenery of Seoul -> http://www.nseoultower.com/english/
*Seoul Arts Center -> http://www.sac.or.kr/eng/
*Most private gallery of An Guk dong in Seoul is free. An guk dong is one of the most famous of arts and an ancient district. I no doubt you'll like it. 'cause most visitors love there.
*This is Korean Folk Village. This place is also one of nice places for visiotrs. This is located out of Seoul, needed one hour by bus to go there, and the enterance fee is a little bit expenxive comparing with other place, but I think it's valuable to go there.
The bus fee of round trip for there, from South Seoul to there, is about 3.5 dollars.
The web for this place is -> http://www.koreanfolk.co.kr/folk/english/index.htm
* About Transportation
The base price for subway is 900won, about 90cents. You can go anywhere in a section. As further as you go, the fee is rising but the most places in Seoul are possible from 900won, the base price, to 1000won.
And bus fee is 900won for one way. But!!! if you use Seoul transportation card, you can transfer 3 times in free in a hour . For example, if you take a bus first and then take a subway in one hour, it's free. Before you use that, you should charge amount in it at any subway station. You can buy the card at the subway station, BUT!!! you don't need to buy it. 'Cause I have a spare one!! Hehe- I usually charge 50000won (50 dollars) in it for a month. And I think about 10 dollars for your trip in Seoul are enough.
This web is Seoul Metropolitan Government. You can get a good information about Seoul -> http://english.seoul.go.kr/

From Seoul to Gyungju, the acient city where you want to go, takes 15.700won.(about 15 dollars.) some places in Gyung ju is quite cheaper than Seoul, but fee of some ones where are famous of UNESO cultural heritage are almost same with Seoul. Infomation for Gyung ju -> http://www.gyeongju.go.kr/eng/main/index.asp

From Gyung ju to Busan, the 2nd biggest city and famous of APEC 2005, takes 5000won (about 5 dollars). Information for Busan -> http://english.busan.go.kr/

From Busan to Seoul takes about 19000won by bus, 36000won by train, 45000won by rapid transit railway. I reccomend you to take a train. :)

Hey, Gongju is the one of the historic city in Korea. It was a capital of Baek Je, which had tough ceramic and introducted Buddhism to Japan, long long time ago. Actually at the city center there are worthy places that is good for you, but I think it's similar with Gyung Ju we will go. So if you just want to go to a rural village in Korea, to go there isn't bad. But my grandma's home was rebuilted, it's not a traditional style and I think maybe we will sleep at a traditional home in Gyung Ju as B&B.

Don't forget visit Palaces...

by Sarah97

Don't forget visit Palaces within Seoul. Toksu-gung(palace) and Kyungbok-gung is near the city center. Also the Pi-Won (Secret Garden) is not too far from it. You wouln't regret the time you have spent in there.

[The Photo is Kunjong-jun in Kyungbok-kung(Palace) in the city center, near Kwanghwa-mun and Insa-dong.]

OB Lager Beer

by machomikemd

Another Popular South Korean beer and again Brewed by the Oriental brewery, it is a Pale Lager that has 4.5% alchohol content and adds rice to the brew. Again this is available everywhere and the price is 800 won for a 700 ml bottle.

Korean T-Shirts as Giveaways!

by machomikemd

the cheapest white t-shirts cost 3,500 won if you are buying by the bulk and 4,000 won if not (that is after you haggle since they would ask you 6,000 won ($ 5.70) as initial price and that would be higway robbery!!) Colored shirts cost 5,000 won after haggling and 8,000 won before haggling. Of course they are of lesser quality that is why they are giveaways, if you plan to buy shirts which are hand painted by the famous Insadong Artists, they go for 15,000 won ($ 14) and are heftier than the souvenir throw aways

Urban riding / jump park

by schwein

Seoul is hurting for urban jumping parks.

There are a few scattered about on Hangang, with a few smaller jumps that invariably have small children using them as slides...
There is an ok park near Dobongsan station (114) on the blue line, but it is pretty far from downtown.
There used to be a decent park in central Seoul at Olympic Park, installed for X-Games, but that was removed for the installation of basketball courts a couple years ago.

Imagine my surprise when I was playing around near the Jamsil Sports complex, and found a new park! It has 6 medium sized features, with a few rails as well.
Built for bikes, skateboards, and fruitbooters, it has been mostly used by BMXers. I take my urban cruiser in.

Children are not allowed to run rampant through here, it is fenced and watched by a security guard.
Next to the park is a rollerhockey rink, as well as a fruitboot speed track.
All built for the Hi Seoul festival, who knows how long they will be around for. Maybe permanent, perhaps not... Bring your helmet/pads. The guard will want you to sign a waiver before you get to play.

There is a beer/convenience store very close, so you don't have to pack beer/water/snacks.
