    The Seoul Millenium Hilton is a good hotel to stay in on a business trip as long as you are on some sort of per diem. Everything here is of high quality -- and you pay for it. The service is fantastic and the rooms are large (some with internet). There are several bars and restaurants on the premisis and the Hilton boasts that it has the biggest Christmas Tree in Seoul. At the same time, like all big hotels it can be impersonal (which is fine if you just want to be lost in the crowd after a stressful day). It's Areno lounge is very popular with Russian models on lady's night (Wednesday).
    A few recommendations for all but the super rich: don't use the laundry and the same stuff that sells for exorbinate fees from the minibar can be had from the shopette across the street.

  • Directions: If you take the Korean Air shuttle from the airport (W12000), it is the second stop. It is near Namdaemun and the west end of Namsan Park. It is near the Hoehyeon and Seoul Station metro stops.

    Perhaps most famous for being the location, in December 1997, of the fraught meetings between the Korean government and the IMF, the Millenium Hilton is an excellent hotel, offering more facilities than most 5 star hotels I have used recently.
    The staff are friendly and attentive, and the hotel's wide open spaces in the lobby and dining areas are relaxing and tatsefully decorated.
    The rooms have the usual 5-star facilities, an excellent shower and have good views either over Namsan, or the downtown skyscrapers around Seoul station.
    Normally 5-star chain hotels are unmemorable, but the Seoul Hilton manages somehow to be a bit different.

    It's location is excellent, with the palaces just ten minutes north, the river ten minutes south and the parks and open woodland of Namsan just across the road.

    The hotel is the second stop on the KAL #2 Airport Limousine/coach service

  • We stayed at the Millennium Seoul Hilton during our recent visit, and boy were we impressed! While we had to wait for quite a while during check in as the room was not ready (that was at almost 6.00pm!!), the nice size and ambience of the room made the wait a worthwhile one.

    One more thing, do remember to visit the nice little park located behind the hotel. You will not miss it as it is on the way to the Seoul subway station. The scenery is amazing, and the fall foliage is especially breathtaking. We took so many photographs that the journey to the subway station took us 30 mins instead of the usual 10.

    While the room rates are a little expensive, the Hilton more than made up for it by its convenient location, great room and good spread for breakfast. Nandaemum is just round the corner, and you can either browse in the night bazaar or grab something to eat anytime.

    This was in stark contrast when we moved to Sheraton Walker Hill, where the room was small and we were far away from everything (but that's another story). We will definitely choose to stay at the Millenium Seoul Hilton again the next time we visit Seoul!

    Rooms are comfortable and large. Good breakfast spread and helpful doormen.

  • I must say that the only thing this hotel has is the location. It is very close to nandaemun market. That is a flea market. It is also near Seoul Station. From this station one can take KTX, fast speed train to south.

    The buffet at lunch time is good. THe Italian is so and so

    the unique quality is that the location is good enough for a foreigner to feel how this busy city is.
