Lotte World: A wondrous place.
by Soobin
Lotte world is my favorite place. If you go to Lotte world, you should ride 'Atlantis', 'Gyrodrop' and 'Gyro swing'. Atlantis is no water, but water ride. It is very fast and scary. But it is the best attraction in Lotte world. And Gyro drop, which the attraction falling very fast. It is very popular. And if you want to see famous Korean singer, you can wait until evening and see their wonderful stage in Lotte world. I also saw Korean famous idol group 'MBLAQ' last January! They were very hot!!!!!!!!!!
Charge Your Phone Anywhere (Almost)
by jburron
If you rent a phone while in Seoul/Korea (I have a tip on this also) you may find yourself with a run-down battery from time to time (even though the batteries in them are usually quite good). If you do there is an answer.
At many CVSs (Korean name for ConVenience Stores) and some restaurants and theatres there are chargers. A quick-charge (abotu 5-10 minutes, I believe) costs about 1,000won/1USD in a CVS but might be by 'donation' or free in a restaurant or theatre.
The Korean word for them is 핸드폰 충전기 (said as hand-fone choong-jeung-gi) so you can either ask around or do a little mime thing of holding your phone to your ear and acting as if it doesn't work to get someone to point you toward one.

Dating Tip For Western Men.
by kdoc13
Gentlemen, take my advice on this, never ever give a Korean Woman White Roses. I know, it seems a bit odd, but trust me. I once dated a Korean woman and thought I would give her flowers. The place I was buying them from were out of red roses, so I decided white would be nice. When I gave them to her, she broke them apart and threw them at my head in the middle of a busy airport.
It was only later that I learned that white roses are apparently for funerals, and giving them to a woman is not a good thing. Suk-Hee interpreted this as meaning I wanted her dead. Oops!
What I would do instead, make sure you know what type of flowers they like, if not go with a colorful bunch of them. Or better yet, skip the flowers and go with a small gift, if you know what they like.
Korean Cemeteries
by Ewingjr98
Koreans have great respect for their deceased ancestors. Cemeteries are typically on a hillside overlooking the fields or village where the person spent their life. Grave markers are typically black slabs of granite with words in Korean or Chinese. The grave itself is a one-meter high mound rising above the ground. When I was there, people often claimed the mound was because Koreans are buried in a sitting position. I later discovered this has not even a hint of truth (like many other stupid American stories about Korea which I discovered were mostly fabricated).
A Korean funeral consists of three days of viewing the deceased in the hospital, then a trip to the cemetery. At the grave site, the deceased's clothes are burned, then they are laid in the ground in a coffin. The hole is filled and the mound is created. On top of the mound, the family will place fruit and wine.
