Business Class Hotel: Novotel Ambassador Doksan
by xuessium
This was a strictly business stay (though I did mix in some exploration of course!) as I finally made my way to my last stop in Asia-Pacific.
Budget travellors: Skip this and move on. This is a business class hotel.
Rather off-center actually, there aren't really a lot of things around the hotel, save for some restaurants and convenient stores, though I did manage to grab dinner from a restaurant among a row of shophouses a little further down the road. (It was a great mime exercise. The local restauranter not speaking a word of English and me not a drop of Korean - but hey, I got my sumptuous dinner!)
The room was really comfortable and I greatly adore the in-house Korean bath/spa (segregated by sex). A great way to relax down after a long day in the office. There were 3 hot tubs - and I am still puzzled at the presence of 1 @ 60C! Boil yourself to death Korean style? Your very own Jigae?
There was a bar/pub within the hotel - almost died from cigarette smoke poisoning when I had a meeting there with my Korean colleagues. The in-house Korean restaurant served impeccable food though quite honestly I enjoyed my street forays more!
Service was impeccable. All staff are smiling - nary a worry in the world, always. Remarkable. Room was immaculately clean and tidied and a bowl of fresh food offered always.
Unique Quality: The Korean bath/spa thing was most appreciated.
The warm and smiling service next.
More about Novotel Ambassador Doksan
Free drinking beer for 10,000 won!
by tyusen about Gran-A
Gran-A is in Novotel Ambassador Doksan. It is located at Guro industrial complex area, so many business persons usually visit here and have a relaxed time with live music. It’s hard to find sophisticated pubs, bars and restaurants around here. Gran-A is an oasis for visitors to enjoy their nightlife in this area. A music band from Philippines provides you with fantastic atmosphere by their good performance. However, the most attractive thing is that we can drink draft beer all you like for 10,000 won only. If you visit at Christmas or Halloween seasons, you are lucky. There are interesting events and parties during the seasons.
