I stayed at the Sejong Hotel for a few nights in October 2007 to attend a meeting there. Overall, the location of this hotel is great as it is just next to the famous Myeongdong area and within short walking distance from Namdaemun area. Also, the airport bus number 605-1 actually stops right in front of this hotel, therefore making transfers to the Incheon International Airport very easy. The Seoul Tower is also nearby.
As for the rooms, I find that they are of good standard and the showers in the bathroom is very user friendly. The higher floors of this hotel also offer great views of the Seoul city area. As for food, there are many food stores in the nearby Myeongdong area. Also there is a bakery along the same street as well as a few 24 hours convenient stores (including the Family Mart chain of Korea). Overall, I enjoyed my short stay at this hotel.

This is an excellent hotel for the casual visitor to Seoul. From the liveried attendant at the door through the spacious lobby to the bar and restaurant the hotel gives an excellent first impression. The double room we had was spacious for Korea with a panoramic view of the city. The staff were most helpful and speak excellent English. Location is first class. The cable car for the tower in Namsan Park is about a 15 minute walk. Namdemun market is also just a short walk while Dongdemun market is only a short subway ride. We stayed for three nights but we didn't try the restaurant. Seoul is full of excellent Korean and Italian restaurants. Myongdong subway station is just outside the door and believe me, Seoul's subway system is easy to navigate and unbelievably cheap. If you're staying more than three days, buy a subway pass for 10,000 Won (about EUR8.30). You don't even need to take it out of your wallet to go through the electronic style and it will probably last for your entire stay.

A Crown Bakery outlet (a popular bakery franchise) is conveniently located along Choongmuro-2-ga street (near to the entrance to Myeongdong as well as the famous Sejong Hotel). It has very nice breads and pastries which you can buy back to your hotel room for breakfast or snacks. The price of the items sold here is quite reasonable too.
If you are looking for cheap stuff in Seoul, you can check out the 1000 Won shops whereby all items in the shop are only at 1000 Korean won each (but don't expect luxurous items here). There is one 1000 Won shop located at the Myeongdong area along Choongmuro-2-ga street near to the famous Sejong Hotel.

the ride is quite steep in some portions. you can check out Astoria hotel or Ibis Myeongdong or Sejong Hotel. Millenium Hilton is right next to Namsan Park. Google Seoul hotels and you would find the location of the better known hotels, but names/details are in Korean characters
