    A Backpacker's Place

    by

Conveniently located...just a few minutes walk to Anguk Subway Station and attractions like Insadong, Changdeokgung Palace and Jogyesa Temple.

It is a modest place to stay the night if you are tight in the budget. The accomodation fee comes with a free breakfast, internet, use of laundry machine and helpful tips from the friendly staff.

Directions: From Anguk-Dong bus station, walk towards SK Gas Station. Turn right at the corner and you will see a pedestrian crossing 100M ahead. Cross the street and go into the narrow street. Walk 150M ahead past Shin-Wha building and turn right at the crossroads.

    Best Hostel in Seoul

    by

After several months of staying in gloomy hotels in Russia, this lovely hostel came in as a much needed reprieve. I hadn?t even checked in and I had already met several interesting travelers from all walks of life. The hostel at times seems more of a meeting place then a hotel. It is right in the middle of an interesting interwoven set of alley ways that will remind you where you are, Asia. It?s within walking distance to Insadon as well, one of the most interesting streets in Seoul. For those that love your historical sites, then this is the place for you as the hostel is near several of the most impressive palaces and gardens, including the lovely Chang-deokgung Palace and Huwon (Secret Gardens).

    Unique Quality: -free internet
    -near Insadon
    -near several palaces and gardens
-walking distance to An-guk station for easy access to subway and airport bus
    -kitchen

Clean Hostel

by redhot_cupid about Seoul Backpackers Hostel

If u want to find a cheap and clean hostel, i'll recommend Seoul Backpackers Hostel. I stayed at the private roo, single, the room is bigger than i thought and there's a complete bathroom (even though it's very small, but it has hot water 24 hrs). The front office can speak good english (thanks God!) and they are very helpfull ( if u find any difficulty in language just ask them to write it in korea language then u just hae to give the paper to the korean, coz language is definitely a big issue here). The hostel has a very good location, near the Anguk subway, airport bus limousine, Palaces, and Insadong street. Actually there are a lot of restaurants nearby, but its kind a difficult to communicate, so i would suggest u to find a restaurant at Insadong street. You can also meet people from all over the world there, some of them are friendly. Above all, I enjoy my stay there :)

Seoul Backpackers or Banana Backpackers?

by guo_mei_xin

I heard that the owner of these two places is the same. But anyone knows which is better in terms of location (I'm planning to go to the tourists sites, maybe less on shopping since I'm on a tight budget... the only shopping I probably will do is window shopping), safety, accessibility to the subway, cleanliness.
Thanks!

Re: Seoul Backpackers or Banana Backpackers?

Both are quite conveniently located in downtown Seoul, Seoul Backpackers is near Seoul Station on subway lines 4 and 5 and across the street from Namdaemun Market, while Banana Backpackers is about 5 minutes from Anguk Station on line 3 (near traditional Korean house/village Bukchon Hanok; and Anguk is one stop from Gyeonbokgung for Gyeongbokgung Palace which you will certainly want to visit).

Seoul Station is one of the stops on the Seoul City bus tour which I highly recommend as the sights are a bit spread out and this is the easiest way to get to all of them: http://www.seoulcitybus.com/eng/

Re: Seoul Backpackers or Banana Backpackers?

by lonleytraveller

I stayed at Banana Backpackers last week!
Found it quite good, free internet, kitchen and TV nice clean rooms (stayed in a dorm) with a shower attached, ie the 4 of us in the dorm were sharing one shower. Total cost was 18,000 won a night!Location is quite good as well, I got their by taking exit 7 from Jongo Sam Ga station, it is only a five minute walk away.
You may have to book ahead however, tried to get into the place twice, it was booked out the first time, and they could only give me 1 night when i wanted two the second time!

Korea is an amazing place enjoy it!

I stayed at Seoul Backpackers (but that was 4 years ago!)...the location is great. As the other vter said, it is near the Anguk station and palaces so very convenient for sight-seeing. If you still have plenty of time before your travel, you might like to request for a FREE brochure from the official tourism site www.tour2korea.com. Their guidebook is one of the best. Or if you're staying in the Philippines now, I could lend you mine...just send me an email.

^thanks for the offer! I also requested for a free brochure. My plans of staying in backpackers hostel is cancelled, I opted for Hotel Ibis so my mom would stop bugging me.
