Sunset at Hanggang River
One of my fondest memory is to witness the beautiful sunset along the famous Hangang (Han River) which runs through Seoul. I was sitting at the Hanggang Park (Banpo section) when the sun set behind the Dongjak Bridge.

Hi
We were there last week and you're right it is cold.We took a full day transit tour right from the airport. It was really good. We went to the Changdeokgung Palace ,saw Cheonggyecheon Stream which is a good picture spot right in the city.We had a lunch at a Korean Barbeque.

yes, some cold weather this week.
so, best way to go around the city tour bus,
in my opinion, it is a good way!
cheaper, comfortable, and many attractions are easily accessible.

I have been visiting Seoul for over ten years and one of the striking things I have noticed is the change in the overall attitude toward North Korea. The regime in Pyongyang is no longer considered the monstrous bully that it once was -- even as it continues to pursue nuclear weapons. I guess the people of Seoul have lived so long under the threat of massive artillery bombardment that they no longer believe it will happen. Sure, the older generation has no love for the North: they remember the war, the attack on the Blue House, the Rangoon bombings. But the Sunshine policy has allowed many Koreans -- especially the younger ones -- to imagine a unified Korea once again, so they have a more positive view of North Koreans, though maybe not of Kim Jong Il himself. This is probably helped by a rather large number of North Korean refugees who now call Seoul home. Therefore, there is even a move afoot to annull the National Security Law that prohibits travel to the North, communist literature and contacting North Koreans among other things. Certainly, things are more relaxed. A tent like the one pictured would have been enough to get someone arrested in the old days of military rule.
The nearby Picadilly and … theaters were closed so this one was packed the couple of times I went by. It is so cheap to see movies here (remember I am coming from Japan)!! There is also assigned seating. Walking from JongRo3 station lots of older ladies will be screaming at the people walking by. Don’t be alarmed, they aren’t angry they are just scalpers. Scalpers for the movies – only in Korea!!.
Kimbap is Like Japanese sushi but without the kikkoman soy soyce and wasabi. The Kimbap is the Korean Version and inside the seaweed wrapper are assorted veggies and imitation crabs and vinegared rice. it cost 3,000 won an order and is really tasty and filling!
The Koreans love to participate in sports, leisure and exercise. In fact, they really love the outdoors especially hiking (trekking). During the summer and autumn mountains, you can see many local people going to the various national parks to do hiking, playing sports (e.g. soccer), having leisure time at the park etc.
