Yim's House Seoul

Yim's House near Changdeokgung Palace is very convenient in going to/from the airport coz the airport bus 6011 picks up passengers near front of the palace. Costs 10T won. Subway requires train transfer & with luggage, it's not so convenient. However it is cheaper to take subway to the airport than by bus. I reserved 2 double/twin rooms but one room I got was a traditional Japanese mattress on the floor. It's kinda hard to get up. Sleeping wise it's okay for me but my husband complained it's hard it being thin. The other twin room is nice. The bathroom is big & clean but I find the water pressure weak. Plus point is the water dispenser available for the guests so we don't have to buy water for our whole stay in Seoul. The room is also clean & size is ok. I find the 4 towels too small. There's TV & aircon inside the room. Plenty to hang our clothes. Very helpful receptionist & friendly owner Mr. Yim. He even gave me discount for my room. They can also speak English. Mr. Yim is quick in answering my emails regarding room reservations. Room is cleaned daily. Overall I recommend this budget hotel. Price is W40T-45T. Hotel is also near attractions like Jongmyo Shrine, Insadong, Bukchon etc... It is between Anguk & Jongno 3-ga Stations with Anguk as the nearest about 5 mins walk. There's also a free internet in the common room near the lobby for the guests. No breakfast is provided however you can find many eateries near Anguk Station. There's an elevator taking you all the way up to the 5th floor so no worries about getting heavy luggage to your room.

Being Seoul a rather expensive city, this place was a nice choice for my budget. The staff is very friendly and they can give lots of info on the city

This hostel is home-basis hostel. It makes guests think they're at their own home. The location is far from subway and airport-bus, but in walkable distance. They provided breakfast - bread, butter, jam ,coffee and tea - unlimit. hot-cold water, air-conditioner, laundering, PC with internet, touring services.

Unique Quality: Breakfast all you can eat.

I spent a year in Korea and lived 45 minutes south of Seoul. I would visit Seoul nearly every weekend and stay at Kim's Guest House. In addition to the friendly owners, the location of the hostel is what sticks out most in my mind. It's within 15 minutes of most of Seoul's top attractions. The party/college district (Hongdae) is within walking distance. I met so many wonderful travlers at Kim's Guest House and made friendships that will last forever.
