Haeinsa or Haein Temple

"Gayasan Haein Temple"

Haeinsa is one of the 3 main Buddhist Temples in Korea. It's located in the Gaya National Forest far from any large city. This temple is where the Tripitaka Koreana are kept. The Tripitaka is National Treasure #32 and a UNESCO site. There are 81,350 woodblocks carving with Buddha's teachings. The temple is dated to over 1,200 years old. There are about 14 other small Hermitages connected to the main temple.
