Galway Forest Lodge Nuwara Eliya is located 2 kilometres east of the hilly city of Nuwara Eliya, known to have a spring-like weather throughout the year. Set amidst the famous Galway Forest Reserve,(although not too many trees are to be seen from the hotel), the Galway Forest Lodge offers nice rest and recreation facilities surrounded by the Nuwara Eliya scenic setting.
Unique Quality: Quite a walk to Nuwara Eliya center !

When i went to the hill country it was a dreary cold day. The nicest surprise was the hotel on top. The Galway Forest lodge. Great hotel. The inside is like you imagine a scottish castle to be. Checkered curtains, in deep green, warm carpets, extra blanket on the beds. And the food was very very good. They made it on the spot in a wok so you had to point at the things you wanted to have and then it was put in the pan.
The teacountry or hillcountry was very different from other parts off Sri lanka. It was green and cool. Almost to cold compared to all other parts. But the views were great and those endless green hills planted with teaplants was something i wouldn't have wanted to miss.
Do stop at one off those teafactories and let the people show all there is to know about tea. Taste some as well, and buy off course. Bring a sweater or jacket when coming this way. It wa awfully cold up here in comparison with other parts of Sri Lanka.
